Immigration Interview

An Immigration Interview Project is where we interview an immigrant. We have to make a list of questions, then interview. Once you answer all of the questions, you have to create a script template, which is basically what you will see, hear, and read. Then, we have to decide if we are using Adobe Creative Cloud Express or WeVideo, and then we create the video.

When Mrs. Cooper told us that we were doing an Immigration Interview Project, I did not really know who I was going to interview. But after I watched a few past projects, I learned that some people interviewed their parents. I first asked my dad, but he said that he was too busy. So I decided to interview my mom. We had to make 20 questions in total, so basically I just followed what information I had to have after the interview. That only got me to 10 or so, so for the rest, I just thought of random questions like what is your favorite food?

I was interviewing my mom, so I did the interview in person. It only took about 15 minutes. It pretty much went as I expected. I asked the question, she answered it. I learned that you should always make sure that your questions should not have a one-word answer, and all of your questions should be friendly and not too personal. One of the most interesting things I learned was that her trip from China to the United States took 24 hours! This was surprising because usually when I go to China, it only takes about eight hours to get there.

In all, the Immigration Interview Project has a lot of steps, but so far it has been pretty fun.
