Passion/Compassion Project (Prestation)

This is the last part of the Passion/Compassion. After picking the topic, doing a background research about it, and writing a first prototype, you are supposed to do a prestation. For, I’m thinking of doing a short talk about why I picked this topic, what sources did I use, and play a video about my first prototype. Then, (I should not forget this) I will play the singing bowl for everyone to hear.

After the prestation: I think that my prestation went really nicely. I told people how I got interested in the singing bowl, and the sources I used, and I also played a video of me playing the singing bowl. After that, I played the singing bowl to everyone. I really enjoyed the project!

Passion/Compassion Project (Prototype/Concept)

Before, we were doing a first attempt. For me I made a video of me playing the singing bowl alone. Now, for the presentation, I will play it in front of the audience. When doing the first attempt, it was kind of confusing for me. I thought that I was exactly like a capstone. You had to research and take a lot of notes and put it into a huge essay. But I realized how simple it was to just make a video of me playing the singing bowl! If I had realized this earlier, this could have just been a piece of cake for me! But my first attempt wasn’t that bad. I played the singing bowl. I think that this Passion/Compassion project is starting to come out very nice.

Passion/Compassion Project (Plan/Collaborate)

Who will you reach out to?

I will probably reach out to Mr. Williams or Ms. Jami.

What resources will you use?

I can look up how to play the singing bowl in a different style (look up on a video or two) and maybe go to the library. And also the uses for the singing bowl.

How will you get it done?

I’m going to play the singing bowl in different ways, and about how it is useful.

Passion/Compassion (Pitch/Cast)

What will you learn, make, or do?

I will learn to play the singing bowl for a longer time. Or, I can say that I will play the singing bowl.

Why do you want to learn, make, or do this?

The singing bowl is now another of my favorite passions to do, and I want to learn more about playing it. I only know how to play the singing bowl in one place: Mr. Williams’ office.

How will you learn, make or do this?

I will need to have a singing bowl in the first place, (probably have to buy one) and I can ask Mr. Williams how to play it.

What will success look like to you?

I can play the singing bowl, and if possible (or not), I can play different notes.

“Ant Class”

“All right,” said our Chinese teacher. She started writing down the schedule for our Chinese school. Chinese school was going to end in May. She started to write.

4\26 cosplay

5\3 review

5\10 ant class

Me and another boy named Lee Zhang started laughing. “Ant class?” I said in Chinese.

“Yeah,” said Lee Zhang in English. “Ant class!”

“We are going to have ant class!” I said in English.

“Oops,” our Chinese teacher said. She was supposed to write no Chinese school. The second time she wrote “every class”. “I think there is some problem with my computer,” the Chinese teacher said. She also had a small smile on her face which meant she thought it was funny, too. The third time she wrote it, she finally wrote “no school”.

Here is our schedule:

4\26\2020 cosplay

5\3\2020 review for test

5\10\2020 no school

5\17\2020 final test (last day of Chinese school)

The Contact Lens

On January 21st, I went to Manhattan with my dad. We were going there to get my contact lens.

Now, I was at the store to get the lens. I didn’t even wait until a person called me over. She was going to teach me how to put the lens on my eyes, but I wasn’t able to put them on to my eyes.

“Okay, how about we go down stairs and put the lens on. It might be a bit easier to concentrate,” She suggested. Her name was Iris. I agreed to. So, we went downstairs to practice, but I still wasn’t able to put it on.

Iris sighed. “You might not get your contact lens today. I’m sorry.” I didn’t give up, though. We went downstairs to the lower level. I tried putting them on but, no matter how I try, I couldn’t put them into my eyes. Iris sighed again. “I don’t think you will get your lens today.”

I sighed. “I know,” I answered.

“Here wait a second,” Iris said with a smile. She walked away, and came back with another person. “Meet Bruth, she will teach you how to put your lens on.” I worked with Bruth, and I finally had put on my lens.

“Dad I can put on my lens!” I walked upstairs and told my dad the good news.

“Good job!” He answered me. I waited for the doctor to check if my lens are good for my eyes. After checking, I took them off. I was able to take them home, yay!

My dad’s birthday

My dad’s Birthday

It all started on a snowy day in Kids Base. I was doing my homework. “What time is it?” I asked one of the teachers.

“It is three forty-five,” She answered.

I had to asked that a few times (What time is it?)

After a while, my mom picked me up from Kids Base and we drove home. When we got home, I did my continued to do my homework. And then, I made my dad a present. While l was making my dad the present, the phone rang. Ring, ring, RING! Mom picked up the phone. I heard a sound. “Okay, if you miss the train, l can pick up Rui rui and Sofia,” Mom said to the phone. Then, I heard who was talking on the phone.

“Thank you, thank you,” The person replied.

I knew who it was. It was Rui rui’s and Sofia’s mom.

Later after the day when Rui rui and Sofia left already,  I took out the cake and put it on the table. “Where are the candles?” Mom asked Dad.

“In the basement,” I replied. “I’m going to get it, but mom you need to come with me.” So we went to the basement and I got the candles. I took out one of them.

When we got up stairs again, I put the little candle on the cake.

“The fire?”Mom asked me.

“You know, remember when you cook dinner, it’s that fire,” I said. I closed out all the lights and left one light open. “Okay,” I said. “When I say ‘one’, me and mom sing ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY’ okay, now, three, two, ONE!” We sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my dad. “Okay, make a wish.”

Then, we had the cake and dad open the presents that we gave him.

“I love your present Lucy,” Dad told me. The present that I gave my dad was a paper that said “Why do I love my dad?” and I wrote all the things he had done to me before. “Thank you, wife.” Mom’s present was an Apple watch.
