Capstone blog post #3

For my fifth grade capstone, my topic is rocket engineering, and I chose to do a TedTalk. The reason I chose to do a TedTalk is that I have experience with presentations related to TedTalks and I know what to do. I think that the final project is going pretty well. What I like about it is making the slides. I like making google slides for presentations because you get the challenge of making a slideshow you like but also matching it with the script. But in my opinion, it’s all challenging. when we first started our scripts, I was thinking “This is so much work. how am I going to get it done so quickly?” Then, I realized it isn’t a bunch of work, but it’s still a lot. One challenge that I had to get through with the slideshow were the images. all the images that I wanted to use for my slideshow were not labeled for reuse. So the process of making the slideshow took a lot longer than I thought. Another challenge was writing the script. It took a long time to get it right, but eventually, I finished making a 3 1/4 page long script. Other than that, the only part that was left was the presentation. the only thing that was hard for me with the presentation is that I had to do it a bunch of times before getting it right. but overall, I think capstone is a challenging but fun project.

I was really nervous for my first interview. It was probably because I had never met this person before. he is my mom’s friend who is actually working on the mission to Mars. When we started, I realized that I didn’t have any reason to be nervous at all, and in the end, my first interview went really well and I got a lot of information. It was pretty fun. For my next interview, I was really excited and I wasn’t nervous at all because I was interviewing my grandfather! He used to work for a company called McDonald Douglas, which was working with NASA. I also got a lot of information from him, too. He actually worked on the S-lVB third stage of the Saturn V! So overall, I was happy with both my interviews and they went really well!
