NYC trip

I think going to NYC was the best fieldtrip this year. I learned many things like, I used to think the statue of liberty was the one of the tallest buildings in the world but when we went the closest we were able to go it looked really, really small compared to the size I thought it was before I saw it. Also i didn’t know how cool Manhatten looked with all the buildings from far away Also I thought the Brooklyn bridge went over the Hudson River not the East River.

Next step in research-NY Project

This is the next step research for my group. My group and I decided to make new sub questions and a new big question because the red light for our other questions never turned green. After that we couldn’t think of four new sub questions we decided to make partners so we only have to think of two sub questions. My partner in my groups name is maya. Brody and Eli are partners. My group and I figured out later in our research that it was smart to do partners. We think this this because we didn’t have to think of to many sub questions and because we didn’t have to get all of the info about our sub questions. Instead we split the work so I did half of maya and I’s sub question and maya did the other half and at the end of our research we will combine all our info. Maya and I’s sub question is: How are all the animals effected in the hudson river by the factors in/around the hudson river? Brody and Eli’s sub question is: What is the eco system around the Hudson River? My group and I have not thought of a big question that connects to both of our sub questions. I assure you later in our research my group and I will have a good big question that connects to both of our sub questions.

New York Project – the Beginning

This is my Hudson River project! So far in our work we are done with the Inquiry Phace. My group and I have a big research question and  have sub questions that we are going to research. Now we are in the Researh Phace. My groups big question is If the lake tear of clouds is effected in anyway does it mean that the Hudson River will be effected too? My sub question is how does the transportation effect the animals in the hudson river. I was able to find the animals in the hudson river. Now I can’t find the boats people take across the hudson river and what chemicals or gas they let into the water. That is the really tricky part. The animals was easy and my group and I were doing so good until we got to the boat parts we got a red light.

Mexico’s Cultural Universals

This is my Cultural Universals project I did on Mexico. I worked on it with my partner Nico and we shared a little bit of our info with each other. Hope you learn a lot about Mexico and its ccultural universals. I hope you want to go to Mexico some day and maybe I can see you there. Hope you enjoy.  I put in a lot of words and not so much puctures. All of the info slides have the same panels and all the starting on a topic pages have the same panels too just different from the info.

The Canary Caper

This is my book review on the book, The Canary Caper.

Book: Canary Caper

Author: Ron Roy

Recommended by: Ben

Do you like reading mysteries and finding evidence to solve a mystery. Well if you do, you should read the A-Z mysteries series. The A-Z mystery series is a series but one of the best books is The Canary Caper. The Canary Caper is made by Ron Roy. In The Canary Caper people who live in Green Lawn are scared because their pets are stolen. When some people come with the pets and return them, then say they found them come in side and have soup. When they are in side they ask to go to the bathroom. I would give this book a five out of five stars! It is a realistic fiction. If you like finding clues and getting deep into the book, this book is for you.

Favorite temperatures for it to be outside

This is my graphing project. I surveyed my classmates and teachers and asked them, ” What’s their favorite temperature for it to be outside?” I tallied my results and created a bar graph. On my slideshow, I created both a bar graph and a pictograph to display my data. One thing I enjoyed about this project was learning about graph and different types of graphs. One thing I found challenging about this project was having to make the lines, numbers, bars and pictures all lined up, having to be the same size and making them big enough to see but not to big. I hope you enjoy viewing my final Google Slides Presentation.

South Carolina

Here is my expert book on South Carolina. You are going to learn about some places in South Carolina and some good and bad things about South Carolina. You are also going to learn what are the same and different things about South Carolina and North Carolina. It took me 2 months to write and learn how to write an expert book. I learned some text features and added them in the text I also added photos and made sure they were all the perfect size and and lined up. All the hard work paid off. Hope you enjoy my expert book!

Thanks for reading my book!

Today our group made no improvements on on our train. However our train was levitating. It went across the track with 32 marbles. The train was able to go across the track without one little tiny tap.

Our train had one strip magnet on each side so we only needed two strip magnets for the train. The reason we did not put a strip magnet on each of the four sides was because we didn’t want the train to way too much so the train to not levitate high. For the track we put three strip magnets on each side. The reason we put three strip magnets on each side was because our train was not levitating very high. So we put three strip magnets so the track will have more power to make the train levitate higher. We only put six strip magnets on the track. So as you can see we only needed eight strip magnets. I think our model was successful because the train was levitating high and it went across the track safely with the passengers.

I learned that every step in the EDP process is very important. Also I learned how maglev trains work and how to make one.I also learned that being in a group and working as a team is very important to accomplish your goal.

Today nothing worked. We used Disk magnets, ring magnets, and strip magnets. My group and I were having a hard time because we didn’t know which side was which.

Today everything failed.I learned that if you know which side is which you can figure out the side on every other magnet that is not labeled. My group and I decided to not use strip magnets. Just ring and disk.

Our goal is to make the train levitate above the track. Also to make the train go across the whole track with marbles on top without the train tilting. First we have to make sure the train can go across the track before we put the marbles on.
