Arcade wadical

Our class has started making an arcade. We did this from inspiration from google’s 20% time. Hope you enjoy!

 

 

Our class has stared making a arcade and so far its success. Our inspiration was a form a person named Caine. He made a whole arcade out of cardboard. When I first saw the video I was mesmerized. I thought the whole thing was fake. When we saw a 9 year old could do that we started a arcade. My job is a prize maker and I have made a lot of arcade prizes. Our only games for the arcade are skee ball, wack-a-mole and that’s it. Other games are in the process of making. There are other small games too Like a mini skee ball made out of balsa wood. We faced a lot of problems on the way to make this arcade better. Making prizes is fun but a lot harder than it sounds. When the arcade was starting all we had was clay to make prizes. The clay was hard to work with and you could make huge prizes because 1.There was limited clay 2.They clay didn’t stick well 3.If your prize broke it was almost impossible to make it the same again. Then we got the idea of using supplies form our maker space. In our maker space we have cardboard, balsa wood, and other helpful supplies that we can use to make prizes. Now our arcade time is called 20% time. We started this arcade near the end of December . Its a work in progress. Some of our games are rigged and were working on it. 20% time is also used at Google. Everyday at google, google employees get 20% free time where they can do anything they want. Ours is more like 20% time a week or 6% a day.Skeeball our best game .  This game also took the longest to make. The materials that made this is cardboard, paper, duct tape, balls, and calculator. There is a bucket that is behind the Skeeball machine that catches the ball. On the right is me coding. We also are starting to have video games in our arcade.

My job is a prize maker and this is “my office”. I have worked on a series of prize’s and other games.
 My job is to find junk brainstorm an idea for a prize and make the prize.
This is a 3D printing program that we use called tinkercad. We have a maker space with on 3D printer. We have made many useful things with tinkercad.
