Learning From our Differences
This morning from learning from our differences Dennis Oehler came to our school. His dissability was that he lost his leg. The story behind it is they were getting back from a hockey game late at night and his car wasn’t moving than he went into his friends car and that car wasn’t moving either. There was a car behind them that was getting angry so Dennis got out of the car and tried to push it to the side so the car could go. When there was just enough room for the car to go and the car went and there were other car behind the car that just left and the other cars didn’t see Dennis and they drove into him. Dennis said his knee really hurt and then he collapsed When Dennis woke up he was in the ambulance and then Dennis got hurt badly and the people in the ambulance couldn’t help Dennis so they had to take his knee of.
Since Dennis Oehler got his leg taken off he entered the Paralympics the Paralympics is the olympics for people who have dissabilities. Dennis was amazed of what people with disabilites do so he tried track and field. 1989 was the year he got the record for track and field for the Paralympics.
