Jamestown and Plymouth Venn diagram

I really enjoyed this project.  I thought is was really cool to learn about two different colonies, Jamestown and Plymouth. It was a pretty easy process, First we read about the two colonies and took notes. Then once we knew a lot about the two colonies we made a Venn diagram we placed important things we knew about each colony into their own circle. Then we put what we knew that was the same. It was really fun and now it’s here for you to see:

Thanks for looking at my project! 🙂

Reading the Weather Reading the World – Project Reflection

I really enjoyed this project. I  liked how we did a group ignite.  A group ignite is when there in one big slideshow with the slides changing every 15 seconds. The person had to speak over the slides. It was fun because it was hard you tried not to look at the slides. It was super fun. Here’s how we did it. First everyone got a part to work on for example I got the tornado group and I got effects. At the time, I had no idea how to write it. I had no information. Then I looked into books. I didn’t find a lot of information there. So I looked on the chromebook and found some great information. Then once I had the information I wrote a brain dump and just wrote everything I new about the effects of tornadoes. Here It Is:

Effects: When a tornado hits land it can cause a little damage or  a lot of damage. A way to know how much damage a tornado will cause is based on the Tornado rating classifications. An EF0 tornado might damage some trees and little structures. But, an EF5 tornado can rip buildings off their foundations. Tornadoes affect the environment by destroying buildings and trees. It may kill animals which affect the food chain and disrupts the whole environment. Tornadoes can destroy farms and other things that produce supplies and food, which could mean food shortage. After a tornado hits people have to rebuild anything it destroyed. Tornadoes can contaminate water and that is a problem not only to humans, but to plants and animals as well. Debris can be very dangerous, as it could kill plants and animals very easily. Some trees take over 100 years to grow so if they are destroyed, it could be hard to replace. There might be fires after a tornado has passed, this may happen because of power lines and gas leaks. Fire contributes to global warming by giving off carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. That was my brain dump.

I was really glad we did that brain dump because it was so much easier to write the script. Then we made a google slideshow and put in pictures that matched what we were talking about. Then we rehearsed. Finally, we practiced in front of the class until we were use to talking in front of a group. Here is my finished slideshow.

Thanks for watching. 🙂

Cultural Universals Project (Peru)

This is my book on Peru. We had to do a lot of research with books, articles, and reliable websites. It was hard work because we had to research five  cultural universals: 1) Politics, 2) Social Aspects, 3) Beliefs, 4) Economics, And 5) Cultural Art. After we got all the information we needed we typed them into the five categories. We wrote our information on our choice of book creator. We added pictures and some finishing touches. It was a hard process but we did it! Hope you enjoy.

How many states 3D’s visited

This is my graphing project. I surveyed my classmates and asked them, “ How many states have you visited?” I tallied my results and created a pictograph. On my slideshow, I created both a bar graph and a pictograph to display my data. One thing I enjoyed about this project was creating a pictograph. One thing I found challenging about this project was tracing over it with sharpy. I hope you enjoy viewing my final Google Slides Presentation.

Beverly Cleary

I believe it is important that all third grade classes have Beverly Cleary books in their classroom library. In my persuasive writing piece, I shared my reasons, which are that Beverly Cleary writes a lot of books, that she brings in characters from other books, and that they are appropriate for third grade students.

In my project, I created a screencastify that shared my persuasive piece. It was a fun project, but it was a bit challenging. I liked getting to write about my favorite author and learning some awesome facts too! What was hard was getting started,  but as I kept on trying and after a lot of work I had a persuasive speech. I hope you watch my slideshow and agree that all third grade classrooms should have Beverly Cleary books.
