Rube Goldberg blog post #6 (Looking Back)

I’m almost finished with my Rube Goldberg and alas, I’m looking back on it. Something that I didn’t foresee in the plan was the distribution of energy. Let me explain. The plan calls for about 25 dominoes and the energy of the push needs to be transmitted. So the power that the final domino crashes down with is not that strong. If you didn’t know the final step needs an immense amount of power. I think this problem could’ve been avoided if I thought a little bit more and added another step so it doesn’t require as much dominoes. I also have been thoroughly miscalculated the power needed to move a tall glass filled with water to brim. Something else that I did not predict is that we had to use a “variety” of steps so half of them won’t work. I really couldn’t avoid this. So my mom caught me getting angry at the project and just completely redesigned it. even though now it doesn’t have a “variety” of steps it’s still better then banging my head into a wall out of frustration.
