Blog post #5 How I Figured out my main Question

My main question is how does a computer’s “brain” work? First, let me explain what a CPU, or Central Processing Unit, is. A CPU is the BRAINS of a computer. It is on a single chip called a microprocessor. The CPU takes instruction from the main memory, determines what the instruction is, and then carries out the instruction. The 3 parts of the CPU are the ALU (Arithmetic/Logic Unit), the Control Unit and the Registers. The ALU performs calculations and makes decisions. The Control Unit organizes the process steps. The Registers are small storage areas which store the results of ALU operations. There is a system clock which controls the speed of the CPU. It generates an electric pulse which helps to arrange and execute the activities of the CPU. This speed is measured in gigahertz (GHz). A computer’s CPU is just like your brain. If you decide you want to pick up a cup off of a table, your brain sends a signal to your hands on how to do that. In the case of a CPU, it executes a program which is a sequence of stored instructions. These instructions are kept in the computer’s memory. RAM, Random Access Memory is short term memory that gets wiped out when you turn your computer off. Long term memory is stored on the hard disk drive. I figured out my main question on 6/6/16 when I was writing the script for my TED talk. I also realized that the CPU is like a human’s brain because it follows the program and then does what you want it to do as long as you coded it correctly. The CPU also relates to the Arduino because the Arduino is a very simple microprocessor that can be coded and built on to perform simple tasks.

Amazing Interview and Site Visit Blog Post #3+4

Today is my site visit and I am so exited. I went to my cousins office building and and went to their floor.  I waited for Teresa to come and give me my site visit. On my site visit I saw the google team and the computer tech team. One of the coolest parts of the site visit was the maker space. In the maker space they made a magic 8 ball out of the Arduino. They also made a scene on the VR(Virtual Reality) which was a cottage and birds. Huge also lets dogs into meetings and the offices. The Site Visit was so  fun.

Now the person who i’m interviewing came in and we started. He answered all my questions except one. Right when he said my cousin can answer that, my cousin Aaron came in and answered it. Peenak the guy I interviewed told me about Binary. Also he brought his Arduino and showed me a clock thet he made Ben the intern made that to. Peenak made a robot that sensors when its by a wall. I had so much fun at Huge. When i’m older I want to work there and what Peenak does.
