Toy cars have a lot of technology because they are meant to bed easy to play with. They have some sort of elastic band in the car that winds up when pushed backwards. What this does it it releases when the car stops being pushed backwards and it shoots forward at a high speed that makes it move fast.
In class we have just finished making our cams. Cam stands for Common Area Maintenance. We built our cam out of paper. The hardest part of making the cam was figuring what to put where. The instructions weren’t very clear on what to put where but in the end it all worked out. It was hard to make the lines precise too but it was really fun working with the slice cutter!
We have done our first launch. When doing the launch we had different jobs. I was not there but Ved was the countdown master and retriever, Amelia was the rocket placer and the button presser, and Ryan was the pumper. When doing these jobs for countdown master you have to ask the climonomiter readers if they are ready then you countdown from ten and yell release. When they retrieve it they get the rocket after it fell back to the ground.
The placer puts the rocket down on to the launch PVC pipe and prepares for countdown for our group the placer was also the launcher. The launcher waited till the countdown master said release then pushes the red button that launched the rocket.
Unfortunately our nose cone popped off and the first launch failed and went about 4 feet but then we did a re-launch and it went an average of 146 feet. We were really proud of these results be we were but we ended up third best in the class out of 6 groups so we were proud that we got in the top three.
After we finished the launch we wrote in our science notebooks a reflection about the launch. We talked about what we thought went well and what we could have done better. We were all very happy after the launch and were excited for the next one.
My question is if a plant would grow in sand instead of soil.
last week the plants were 1 – 1/2 inches this week my plant is 4- 4 1/2.
our plant has grown tiny pods. We don’t know what plant is growing but it seems like a bean because of the pods.
our flowers have been pollinated and has lost its petals a lot of them have grown tall and have been growing upright some of the leaves have been turning yellow.That is normal and soon the pods are going to be big and all grown up.
Technology is something that is man made and solves a problem.
My object is technology because it solves the problem of people using knives.
It helps because it would be to dangerous to use, unlike sissors
This proves that sissors are technoligy.
