Rube Goldberg Meet Up #2

Today we added an eight ft tube at the start that drops a ball into a funnel that falls into the marble run. So now we have at least 7 steps, but I still want too add more to it because we have so much more time. Ben Y agreed with me and said that we should add more. I wanted to have a coat hanger kind of zipline on some string, which could knock the marble into the tube.  We still have about 2 weeks left finish, so I hope we’re going to add more.

Debate Response #2

Our 2nd debate was way better! We had a lot more examples, we knew what we were going to say and we put in some videos. But we did some things that were not so good. We sometimes forgot that we had a new example, and we left and jumped back in. We were a lot more prepared and I think helped us a lot! At the start of Extreme Sports, our group was all on the “worth the risk” side. But as we got all the examples and reasons, I slowly changed to “not worth the risk” side.  Here is the link to our second attempt video. —–> Click Here!

Writing my Soccer NF article.

When I wrote my Soccer NF article, I wrote the rules, applications and positions right away. But then I had to write more. It took me a while to think about others, but then I finally figured out to do 3 drills, and 3 basic tricks. Then I wrote my article on Word. It took only a little time to write it, since I already knew what I was going to write. After I went over it again, all paragraphs were in different fonts and colors, and different sizes. So I had to fix that. Then I had to searched up for pictures, and I revised my work over and over again and then, then FINALLY!! DONE!! Or at least I THOUGHT I was done. But Mrs. Edwards corrected us and I did everything she said. THEN I was finished. Yay!         Here is the link to my finished article  🙂 —–>   https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4p4Bsw_6MhgRHhkOHlrUXRzZGc

VIDEO CONVERSATION WITH NASA MEMBER

When I heard about this, I was like OH MY GOSH!!!! Like this was a chance to talk to a NASA member!!! Her name was Rachel Power. I wanted to ask her,”What was you furthest rocket, where was it planning to go, and where it landed?” Even though I couldn’t talk it was still fun and cool. And most people don’t have the chance to talk to a NASA member. So that was a big moment for me!

Important news 2015

I think what will have a long lasting time in the world is on  July 14, a spacecraft performs the first ever trip to Pluto, and it sends pictures of the icy surface back to earth. I think this because we are exploring another planet, and the furthest planet from the sun. We will hopefully  learn a lot about Pluto!

Rocketry Presentation

I think our rocketry presentation was really good, and that we really payed it off. And that it took a lot of practice to remember what we were going to say, and remember our slides. But overall, we did really good, and we spoke really loud and clear. But that was the end of rocketry!!! And it was a very good unit

Debates Response #1

My group was debating is Extreme Sports were worth the risk, or not. Ty and I were on CONS, and Ian and Jonny were on PROS. What we could do better was getting more examples for our reason. We are working on that for our 2nd debate. To make our debate better next time, we can try to memorize our lines and not look down as much. I thought we were not ready at all, but it turned out great! Here is a link to our video.—>    Click Here!

Westward Expansion: Trail of Tears and Indian Removal Act.

My group mates are Michael Marks, Melanie Toubin and Max Zhang. Max worked by himself on a scratch game. At first, we made a crossword puzzle and a word search. But when we showed it to Ms. Edwards, she said we had to do something where you can learn something. So we made a board game. We put questions to make it “Educational.”     Melanie made big game pieces that were supposed to be tears :\ . But we had to live with it. Even though we didn’t have much time because we made puzzles, we were a good group!

Rube Goldberg project meet up #1

On our first meet up, we took a long time to think of our task. We finally came up with popping a balloon with a needle taped onto a car. Jackson’s parents told us to work backwards. So we came up with this. We drop a marble into a marble run, which knocks down dominoes and pushes a toy skateboard  that knocks into more dominoes, which pushes a yo-yo that falls onto a trigger that launches the car, popping the balloon. But we are going to add more to it.
