I am very excited that now we are in the building phase of the project. In my project I am going to change a lot of details from my sketch. This is because I felt like my sketch could be improved much more.

Building this machine is very hard. Although gravity is helping my out a lot gravity is making it so hard for me. For example in the picture above the book is so unbalanced that I had to stick pens inside it to keep it balanced and attach weights to the back to keep more steady. Then I had to test out the good distance between the edge of the table and the cup so the book dosen’t flip.

One of my favorite Rube Goldberg videos is https://youtu.be/2NxBiseje8Q which for some reason does not appear directly. The video is funny and also gave me a lot of good ideas and there are also more episodes.

I had some failed attempts as I tried bits of the project. Most were because my machine didn’t have enough force because it was hard to directly send force. From this I learned lots of important facts like books have much more force than dominoes. I also learned how to skim the back of cars to get cars going fast. These challenges have cost me sometime and I definently expect more of these problems to come so I will have to spend more time on the project.

My thoughts on this project is still similar from my thoughts from the beginning. My goals are also the same with a couple added goals like actually completing the balloon step in my project and not removing it.
