Various Scarsdale schools, including Quaker Ridge, Greenacres, Edgewood, Fox Meadow and possibly the main one with the most impact on a school, Heathcote, are adding on to the schools with cafeterias. No one from Heathcote is sure if it is a problem for the other schools as much as Heathcote. It isn’t necessarily a problem for the teachers but definitely for the kids. At Heathcote no one is allowed to play basketball for possibly the year.

Most people are mad they can’t play basketball. “I am very mad I can’t play my favorite sport,” says Aviv Brav. Since all the construction, kids are not allowed to play basketball because they are constructing over the court. It has been a big impact for the most part because every recess, all the courts were full. It didn’t matter if you didn’t like it or you thought you were bad, it was just fun to shoot around with your friends.

Though it has been bad for basketball at Heathcote,  it has been great for other sports. Since some people can’t play basketball, they resort to their other favorites. Football and Soccer have been favorites to people who have played basketball before the construction.

Though, Heathcote has lost the basketball court, we also have been given a new jungle gym in return. Carlie Kauffman says she favors the jungle gym more than the basketball court. The jungle gym has a lot of things people love including the new spinner. Though  we already have one, most people haven’t even stepped a foot on it. “It’s annoying I can’t play my favorite sport my last year I can even HAVE recess,”.
