Maglev Project

Final Design Process Reflection

By: Luke Iasiello

Group Members: Emma, Ryan

On our first design we used 4 magnet strips, 7 ring magnets, 7 disks, 1 long strip magnet and last one red magnet. For the track we used two horizontal long magnets, we also used seven ring magnets along the edges of the track. We also used the red magnet on one side of the track.  For the vehicle, we used two small strip magnets. We placed one magnet on the left side of the vehicle and one other magnet on the right side of the vehicle.

One problem we had was that the magnets were  not repelling. We fixed this problem by testing the sides and seeing if they repel to the other magnets.

Our final vehicle worked because we put 2 of the long strip magnet on each side of the bottom of the box and put 2 little strip magnets on each side of the vehicle faced the right side to repel to the other magnets on the bottom.

I had trouble when my plan did not work and I was mad.

Thankful Post

Family

I am grateful for my family because they help me, they take care of me and they play with me.

The first reason I am grateful for my family is they help me. For example, they help me with my homework. My mom always reads with me.

In addition I am thankful for my family because they take care of me. For Instance, they hug me when I go to bed.

Last but not least, I am grateful for my family because they play with me. In particular, my dad and my brother play football with me.

I am very grateful for my family.

QRS Playground

In third grade we go on a different playground than last year. This year the fields are bigger then last year.We also go out with the fourth graders. At  recess I like to play football with my friends. This is fun because I like to  run at recess. My favorite sport is football at recess. Every class in  third grade has a colored  ball bag for recess so we can play.

This is a picture of the field I play on.

Paper Steam Challenge QRS

In September my class did the steam challenge. Everybody got a piece of paper. My table got a blue paper. My table had to figure a plan to make the longest paper chain. Finally we thought of a plan. Our plan was to cut thick pieces of blue paper and glue them together to make a chain. Then we all finished. The whole class took our paper out in the hall to measure which group had the longest chain. My table got third place. I enjoyed it.
