Maglev Train

Final Design Process Reflection

Name: Sofia S

Group members: Me, Brady, Sammy

My group first started off with 4 disc magnets on the bottom of the car. Two of each disc magnets were on the side of the car. There were 20 ring magnets on the track. The ring magnets were lined up with 10 ring magnets on one side, and 10 ring magnets on the other side of the track.

A problem my group faced was we had different types of magnets on our car and our track. Therefore,  we knew we had to change our magnets to be the same if we wanted the car to float.

Our final design had 2 strip magnets on the car and the on the track. It worked because we had the same magnets on the car and the track. We also made sure that the magnets lined up, and they did! But one thing that was off is the car would sometimes tilt, but then we fixed that by rearranging the magnets. We also rearranged it many times, but then we finally fixed it.

We felt proud that we got the car to float, and then  again when we put marbles in a cup on the car, it worked! That made us feel really proud. We are very happy our project worked although there were a few mistakes. Put what made it fun was how much work we did, that project was really fun and it was all worth it in the end. I hope we do a new fun project like this one again.

Family Thanks

Family Thanks

I am grateful for my family because they fill my heart with joy and love!

The first reason I am grateful for my family is because they are very nice to me! For example, I am thankful for my Mom.  She is always there for me when I’m sad, and she gives me a kiss on the cheek!

In addition,  I am thankful for my Dad. For instance, he is always there for me to do my best! He is always there to teach me to  fight, just in case there is a bad guy. When he teaches me, I know I should never give up! I am thankful for my Dad!

Last but not least, I am thankful for my dog, Fiona.  Fiona is so cute! In particular, she gives me cuddles when I’m sad, Fiona starts to whimper, so I never want to be sad or else it will make Fiona sad!

To conclude, I am very thankful for my family because they are the best! Mom, Dad, and Fiona are  the best family I could ever have!

How Do Leaves Change Color In The Fall?

Do you sometimes wonder how do the leaves change color in the fall? Well, there is something in the leaf called chlorophyll. The chlorophyll makes the leaf have the color green, but the tree can’t produce anymore chlorophyll because of the cold weather. So, the color of the leaves  could change to red, orange, or brown. It’s very interesting how nature works when it coms to leaves, and the circle of life. I hope you learned a lot about how the leaves change color in the fall.

Chromebooks

Mr. Calvert came in the classroom and gave us our Chromebooks. We get to keep them until we are in 5th GRADE! I’m so happy! Chromebooks are super fun, and they have very cool  websites and they are really fun! I think I’m  a wiz at computers. Once on the Chromebooks, we got to see other people’s blog and I chose Emma’s blog! Her blog was awesome! She wrote about Frankie and Fanucci’s pizza! And I loved what she wrote!  I love the Chromebooks!
