#6 Capstone- Working On My Final Project

Once I finished answering my main inquiry question, I went straight into making my slides for my TED Talk. If you didn’t know why I’m doing a TED Talk, I will tell you now. I’m doing a TED Talk for my final project for capstone. That is what this blog post is mainly about, so lets get started.Once I started making my slides, I thought this is a piece of cake. Five minuets later, I was wishing it was cake. Meaning, I couldn’t come up with any more slides. I was only at five slides. But I wasn’t the only one. My friends  were also stuck. So I became an expert on on some other topics as well. I’m getting off track. So back to me, once I was stuck at five, I was in a black hole. I didn’t want anyone to help me. This is my project so these will be my slides. I insisted before I started my slides. And I was about to regret it. I take a break from that once I went to P.E. Once I went back, someone flipped the light switch because I started zooming through making slides. Some of the slides went towards the beginning, and some towards the end. I had to delete a few slides because it wasn’t supporting my answer to my main inquiry question. I ended up with 11 slides at the end! But even though I finished making my slides,  I wasn’t done with my TED Talk. I still had to practice and prepare what I was going to say. Unlike everyone else, I did not write a script.  I don’t want to feel forced to say something and then on that day that I present, I forget it. So I’m playing it on the safe side. I’ve been practicing every day for the past week or so and I am so excited to preform! I don’t get stage fright or nervous when I’m in front of a large audience so I think I will do fine when I stand in front of everyone. I practiced and I practiced in front of a small audience before so there will be no problem.

Yes, often the research part is easier than the part where you have to decide how you are going to go about teaching others about what you’ve learned. You worked hard on every step of the research process and making your final presentation. You know your stuff and it shows when you start talking. Bravo, Melanie!
