What’s Up, World?

Hi, world. My name is Spencer and I’m currently 9 about to be ten years old, my birthday’s in April. Some of the things I’ll be blogging about are: my sports teams, sports updates, and fun facts about sports. I love sports, it’s my life. My parents love working out and my 4-year-old sister loves soccer.

In third grade (last year) for Little League Baseball, I was on the Grasshoppers. We came in 1st place but tied with our enemies, the Fightin’ Phils. We were awesome! In basketball this year, my team was terrible. We went 0 for 10. That’s 0 wins and 10 losses. I still enjoyed it.

I just like sports. My parents both play tennis, so they force me to play, too. My tennis instructor is really mean and makes you with 3 laps or more if you misbehave. I’ve gotten 8 laps before. Oops! I used to play golf, but I got into contact sports like baseball and football. My favorite football team is the New England Patriots. I was born in Boston. I was overjoyed when the Patriots won the Super Bowl. What’s your favorite sport and team?

I love sports so much that I love sports updates (an update is news).When David Ortiz announced retirement at 40 years old, I was sad. Did you hear that Giselle wants Tom Brady to retire? Tom Brady is rich, but he’s still so young. I think he shouldn’t retire. Marshawn Lynch might come out of retirement. Amazing, right? Could you believe when Jose Fernandez was killed in a boat crash! He was still young and only 90 games into his career, which was less than 1 season. That’s the type of sports update I will be giving.

I like sports fun facts. Did you know that the Red Sox were originally called the Red Socks but a Chicago Tribune writer thought it was harder to fit on the newspaper? Aroldis Chapman on the Reds threw the fastest pitch ever. It was 106 MPH! Those are some of the fun facts.
