Maglev Post #2

Today was day 2 creating our maglev train. We made it levitate but it did not float across the track smoothly.We used strip magnets and disc magnets and we placed the 4 strip magnets on the track and some discs on the track. We put some disc magnets on the strip magnets, we also put 4 disc magnets  on the train.

But we did put too much tape on the train and it was unbalanced so it was not really moving enough to reach the other side. So we learned to not put too much tape. We took off the tape and we put some more strip magnets on the track and it started to move farther.

My goal is to make it move all the way to the end wit out hitting it hard or tip. And we have to still have some tape so it can stick a little. By Monday I want to get to the improve process. We think about how it could go putting passengers on the train and make it go safely. If it doesn’t work we will put something on the train to make it not fall out off the sides like a strip magnet on the side would protect it from falling from the side. So then it can go safe and sound.

A maglev train is a small train with magnets to attract or repel.

We had three strips of magnets on each side of the track and then we put them North and North

And we added another three small strip magnets and one disc magnet. And it levitated and we pushed it and it went across.

What failed is that we tried to put only three strip magnets and three small magnets and it wouldn’t levitate.

It was challenging with the ideas,we all had good ones,but we don’t know what to use.

But then we figured out what to use and it took a while until we got it to levitate. And we did a tiny tap and we got it to go across. So it worked out kind of fair. It wasn’t easy but it wasn’t hard it was more harder than easy.
