Softball

I love Softball! It’s my favorite sport! This is how it’s done: 1, there are two teams: One of them will field first and one of them will bat first. 2, The batting team: the team makes a batting order and the players will line up. The 1st batter will hit while the next two are swinging in preparation. When the batter hits the ball, he or she will drop the bat and run to 1st base or farther. The second batter will go to home plate and wait for the pitcher to throw the ball. The person who is after the batter will get the bat that the batter before dropped. Then he or she will go back to swinging while they wait for their turn. When someone doesn’t swing at strikes, it’s called a strike. A good pitch is called a strike. A good pitch is in between the knees and the chest. If you don’t swing at one of those it is called a strike. If a pitcher pitches a bad pitch that is higher than your chest, or that is lower than your knee, it is called a ball. If you swing at a ball, it is also called a strike. Have you ever heard people say “Three strikes and you’re out!”? In softball, if you get three strikes when you’re batting, you’re out! 3, All the positions. There are outfield and infield positions. In the infield, the positions are pitcher, catcher, 1st base, 2nd base, shortstop, and 3rd base. The pitcher will pitch the ball (underhand) for the batter to hit). The outfield. The basic positions in the outfield are right field, center field, left field. The others are right center and left center. Right field is on the grass behind the first baseman, Left field if on the grass behind third base, and Center field is on the grass behind second base. Right center is on the grass in the middle of right field and center and left center is between left field and center field. The object of the game is to get to home base. Each time your team steps on home base, your team gets a point.

    1. In baseball, you use a different ball, the pitcher pitches overhand instead of underhand. I’m sorry, but my mind is tired and I can’t think of anything else. It might be a good idea to ask someone who plays baseball as well. If I think of any more differences I will tell you.

    2. The question about why I love it. So many people have asked me that question and I don’t know how to answer. I can’t find a good way to explain it. Sorry. I’m still thinking about it.?

    1. I will ask my dad. He’s coach so he should know. He would probably know anyway because he keeps track of these things. I don’t know how but he does! 🙂

    1. I play for the Scarsdale Raiders tournament team, and I have to play rec softball which is fox meadow. I play 2nd Base a lot.
