I just finished making my flashlight. I got to use the drill presses to make the holes in the pipes for the light to come out and the switch. This is definitely the coolest thing I have ever made. I am really exited for the next project but I definitely not think it can be any cooler than this one.

This week we started making our flashlights. It is really cool how they have to be waterproof flashlights. This is going to be really cool and I would like to see how I will progress in this project.  I am really really exited.

I am working on switches and making the little red lights turn on and off with cardboard wires popsicles sticks and more. We are use it the glue guns and the scroll saws. It is so cool how fast the scroll saws can go and cut through cardboard so cleanly. I am exited to finish up my switches with the scroll saws and the glue guns.

I am working on my soldering piece and I am making a baseball. It is really cool how I can melt things with the iron. It is over 800 degrees and can go right through metal. It is very dangerous but very fun. Mabey I can also make another thing. Next week we are going to be working on switches and making them turn on and off. I am very exited to do it next week.

This week we are going to use the sottering iron. I am very exited. I am going to make a baseball because we have a limit of 6 lines because we are just starting. I am also making a 3d printed object. I am making a cup figure guy for my friend because he wants it. I do not know why. It is fun

In tech I am making my own design. Since I am a jets fan of course I thought to make a jets helmet. I am exited to see how it will look. I am going to make some 3d prints for my friends. It is so cool watching the things get print and cut. I do not know why but it is so satisfying. I hope we use the saws things too. Exited for next week.

Tech Post #2

This week we have been talking about atoms and how small they are and the parts of them. We are going to be starting the laser cutter this week I am very exited. I wonder if it will be hard or easier to do then writing. We are talking about how laser works. We get to make the design on the app and then Mr. Calvert will make them for us. I am exited to try it out and do other projects in the future.

Tech Post number #1

When I first came into tech I had no idea what to expect. At first we went over all over and looked at all the machines we will be using this quarter. I am most exited to use the lazar cutters. Is it going to be hard? The next day Mr. Calvert had a box for a breakout. We had to look for clues all around the room. It took a lot of time but we ended up completing it in time. Neither group got the bounds box which was really hard to get. This breakout was very hard. I want to make a Mother’s Day card for Mother’s Day. I want to make a letter and then put a gift card in the middle. I think this would be very cool. I am also exited to work on projects with the people in my group. We could all combine our ideas and then make something very cool.

Did you know sports cards were started in the 1880s? My inquiry question is how is the value of a sports trading card assessed and what are the characteristics that can affect its value. There are many interesting ways of how sports cards are assessed and valued but after my research, doing my interview, and a lot more I realized that the most interesting things are, how are sports cards valued? Who assesses trading cards and their value? And how do you know the value of a sports card? These questions are the three most interesting in my opinion on my topic and I am going to answer them for you right now.

There are several factors that impact trading card value, not the least of which is the grade a card might receive from an objective and independent firm. Popularity of the player is a very important part of the issue and the overall condition of the card can all affect a card. Whether it sports an autograph from the featured player or perhaps contains a piece of one of his/her game-worn jerseys could also play a role in the card’s potential escalation in value. One more reason a sports card will have a value would be if it is a rookie card. If it is a rookie card it will be a lot more money than a regular non rookie card because if it is his first year nobody knows if he/she is going to be good but if it is or a rookie it is not suspense and you know if he is good or not. Even though if you a Patrick Mahomes and it is not a rookie card it is still worth a lot of money because Patrick Mahomes is a very good football player.

Always look at a card with your eyes and if you can see scratches or something wrong with the card then do not grade it because if you can see one thing wrong without even looking with a microscope than it will most likely not grade a ten but maybe you could still get a nine or eight if there is nothing else wrong with the card.

One way to know the value of a sports card is to look up the more popular the player or team, the more desirable a card can be. Vintage Hall of Famers such as Jackie Robinson or Mickey Mantle, or modern stars like Mookie Betts, Mike Trout or Cody Bellinger are likely to be more highly valued than players who are not as well known or successful. Also you should look up the player and see if they are a good player or not. If it’s someone good like Patrick Mahomes it would be worth more than someone who is not that good at playing the game.

I hope you learned a lot about how sports trading cards are assesed and the chararistics that can affect its value.
