Argument and Advocacy Debate Lilac Grossman

Hi I am Lilac and I just finished a debate project. Something I thought was hard finding good research to fit with my reasons, I think this because one of the worlds main focuses right now is to ban plastic bags but I also had to take notes on why they shouldn’t be banned and this was very hard for me because not many people thought they shouldn’t be banned. something that was easy for me was doing the actual debate I thought it was very smooth and easy going and I really enjoyed this project.

Ignite Reflection

Hi, I am Lilac,

When I was first introduced to a Ignite by my computer lab teacher Mr. Casal, I had no idea what it was and i was so confused, and nervous I had no idea what I was getting my self into……       If you don’t what a Ignite is it is a form of presenting were you stand in front of a (In my case a smart board) screen and you would put pictures on google slides and it would auto advanced every 15 seconds. you would normally you would do a Ignite by your -self but we did it in groups of four! The people in my group are Kyle, Natalie, and Max.

After we were introduced to a ignite, we were told that we would be doing two different ignites! the first one was a practice ignite and the other one was our extreme weather ignite. For our practice ignite we got to pick our topics (yes!) I picked my camp Camp treetops we worked on this ignite for two to three weeks all together it was seven slides plus a Times up! slide. we had to memorize seven sides and that was hard for me

Our second ignite we did recently we got assigned to a topic like hurricanes, tornadoes, earth quakes, tsunamis, and volcanoes I got assigned to volcanoes. then we got to pick our subtopic the options were: Causes, Effects, Safety and prevention and important events. I pick important events each kid got two slides to get to say every thing they needed to say this project took over or around a month. The volcanoes I looked at were Krackatoa and Mount Saint Helens.

when I look back i relized how much work me and my group went through some hard, and some easy. When we did our ignite in front of our parents I was really nervous but I just let the words flow out of me and my group did great!
