Maglev Train Post Day #2

Today we worked on making the train levitate we had to switch the magnets on the train and the track. So we got that to work and then we started to work on getting the train across the track.

Making the train levitate was hard until Mrs.DeGrazia told the class that we could give the train a little push for it to start. Then we got that to work. Now we started to work on getting the the train to move with the passengers. That was really hard so we switched the track again to make the magnetic field stronger. That made it levitate but if we try to get to the other side the train just flips over.

Tomorrow we are going to work on getting the train across the track with the passengers and not to make the train flip over with the passengers.

Maglev Train # 1

A maglev train is a train that levitates above the ground and moves. It is the fastest train ever invented. It is made with all magnets.

Today we tried it for the first time and it didn’t go so well because we put all the magnets on the track on the wrong side. So the train wasn’t levitating, so it couldn’t move or levitate. Instead the train just attracted to the track.

It was frustrating because the tape on the magnets kept falling off. Also we had to flip the magnets a lot so all the magnets on the track could be on the north side and all the magnets on the train would be north, so the magnets would repel to make the train levitate.  However, we put the magnets on the track the wrong way so  it just attracted.
