Capstone #1

Recently Ms Boyer introduce Capstone to us. Recently  we had to pick our topics! I picked dreams. The reason why I picked dreams is because I was always wondering why my dreams were so crazy and I knew the people that were in them. So I was having a little bit trouble thinking about my topics and then that night when I went to bed I had a dream about Capstone and picking my topic and then I thought why don’t I just do dreams so that’s how my idea sparked and I also like studying about sleeping. I’m really excited to start Capstone and get a lot of work done because I think this will be a great topic and I feel confident in it.

Passion project #3

Recently I did a post about my project and so far I have done a lot. I had set goals for the week and it was to get my interview questions and to finish my sketch done and I got those done. The interview question will be in my slide show. I also just read a fascinating book about an artist named Banksy fun fact about Banksy is that he/she would like to keep he’s identity privet so no one will now who he/she is. I have also recently started one of my topics and that is how to learn to do graffiti and so far my resources are my dad because he had to got thought this process. I am looking forward to get more done this break.

The research that I have done has been a lot for example I have been using a a website also I used a YouTube video. The topic that I am doing is the history behind graffiti and how learn to do graffiti. I also I have been doing my guiding questions they are how did graffiti begin and who where the first graffiti artists. The resources that I have been using is a articles and a YouTube video. What will I create will be a huge painting on a wall somewhere. The why that would work is I am going to be painting something personal to me and creating it to a master piece. The way I am going to share is is by having a slide show that would proved information on graffiti it will also have a interview with my dad because he is a graffiti artist and has lots and lots of experience for what I am doing. Rube Glodberg #6

Today was the last day to work and let me tell you is was the most stressful project I have ever done. My team and I stared to make sure that all of are ramps and bored are all secured. We stared to put all of the pieces we all on the bored. Then we tested it and it didn’t work so we had to  figure out ways that we can make it better so we called one of the parents for a minute or two to help. It took 64 try’s till we got the treat to go into the bowl. The first thing we noticed on the project that was not working it the pulley had to be  adjusted in a way that I won’t make the marble got off our board after we made a lot of changes and it was so stressful thing but after all of the hard work we  finally made it in. My team and I later had to make a video at school when we finished the video we where so glad to be done. I loved this project and it was such a good experience!!

This our video! come and check it out.

The Magnificent Boys by Nicole

Have you ever had to wake up and make your own breakfast? That is easy, right? For these boys in a small floating village in Southern Thailand in the story of panyee fc, they started with nothing and built a champion soccer team. The boys had to work extra hard because they had to do everything for themselves.

The boys had to build their own pitch, they had no space where they lived so they thought and thought until they had the idea .They had to strategize ways to build the pitch. “We started by collecting some old wood from around the village.”  “The pitch did not come out so good because it was shaky, uneven, and had some nails sticking out everywhere.” The boys had to use what is around them to build the pitch. They were very creative in what they did. This show they did all the thinking and planning for themselves.

Do you play soccer? And do you have a soccer coach? Well for these boys they had to be their own coaches. In the text it states “the pitch was small so our footwork was really good.” This shows they learned to use a small space. The pitch was small so when the ball went in the water so did they that made the pitch wet. In the text it states “so we had to learn to play on a wet slippery surface. When one of the boys got a flyer from the mainland to be a part of the Panyee FC cup, they decided to play and had to enter themselves  because they had no coach. When they were in the game it started to rain really hard “our boots filled with water which slowed us down,” this shows that they had to strategize ways to not make them slow down. So they thought back to when they were on the pitch “so we got rid of our boots.” “Playing in bear foot is more comfortable for all of us” This shows they had to use what they know.

Have you ever been told by someone that you can’t do something? Well that what all the boys got told by the villagers “look around. Look where you live” this shows that they did not think that they were not capable to play soccer and build a pitch but they ignored them and said. “We’re starting a football team. We are going to be in the world championship” This show that did not pay any mind to what they had to say. At first it took awhile to figure out what they were going to do’’ Panyhee Cup “should we” “I’m not sure” “we didn’t know if we were good enough to enter” this show that they where unsure of is going to happen next to them. The boys had themselves to go to because all of the villagers did not believe in them.

The boys learned that no matter what happens that there is always to solve  problems and to sick together and not let someone tell them what to do. What I learned form Panyee Fc is to set goals for myself and never give up on my dreams.

THE FREAK OUT

THE FREAK OUT!

It started on a Saturday night. Olivia and I were relaxing. Suddenly we hear Ranger barking.  We look over and he was at the door.

“Ugh!”  I sighed.

“It’s too late, “ Olivia answered. “I got him. Want to come?”

“Sure,” I said.

We were halfway way down the block.

“Do you know a guy named Mark? His sister’s in my grade. Is he in yours?”  I asked her.

Olivia shouted for a brief moment, “It’s none of your business! Don’t be a BRAT. Oh wait, I forgot you already are one!”

“Why, is he your boyfriend?”  I asked in a sarcastic way.

“Nicole, stop it right now or I’ll tell on  you,” Olivia screamed.

“Okay, okay. It was just a joke!”

“No it wasn’t! Stop lying all the time!”

Olivia didn’t talk to me for the rest of the walk.In my head I was thinking why can’t she take a joke because in are old house we could joke around and she will  not care. since we moved we been more apart. We finally got home. Olivia was livid. She went off on me. My mom came home and Olivia told her what had happened.

We said sorry. After that we forgot what had happened and went on with our evening.

After the walk I was so upset. Why can’t she you just take a joke and move on? I felt so betrayed and upset that we can’t get along.

The lesson I learned is think before you speak and say it in a nice way.

4th grade reflection

This year My class/grade did so many things for example, we did Colonial America that was a good experience, we did activities. Then in November, we did a grade activity where we look on a newspapers to see all the food we want for thanksgiving then, when we have all the items we had to add them if we go over a price we have to figure some how to lower the price.  Close to the end of the year we did Toy Theater. Toy Theater was amazing and so fun, we did script writing, painting, and so much more. In the middle of the year we did an ecosystem project and we had to research on a topic. Then we did a blog post/ food chain. After that we did a Wevideo project. It was prey fun we got inform them made a video about are topic and how to help the world. We did so many project that my favorite one is we video. It was my favorite because we get to learn different things that I didn’t even know.During the year we did so many readloud. we did Tiger Rising,Blood on the River, Book Scavenger. My favorite book is Tiger Rising because it told a story about bullies and social problems that he needed someone to help him.In school My teacher teaches every subject in elementary . My favorite is science because you do so many experiment and you can be free minded.

Colonial America book Reflection

The process of making my Colonial America book was not easy. The first  thing you had to do is research about the topic you got. For example, I did daily life of a colonial woman. I had to research that but your first chapter had to be about colonial life. Then you had to organize the research that you got so you can write it out on the a note pad. After you wrote it out you type it in google slides. For chapter two you have to write about your topic that you got and have three main things you had to write about. I did chores, clothes and free time . For your chapter three you can choose if you want to do a letter or journal entry, I did a letter. You can do it to anyone in colonial times. For your fourth chapter you do an essay. In the beginning you  should have picked a question for you topic, that’s what you write your essay about. After you do that you have to copy and past it into sides and get pictures. The most challenging part for me was doing the research because I had to make sure that I had enough that I can write a book on and make sure it made sense.  My favorite part of making my Colonial America book was putting the research together. It was my favorite because I can see all the work I did and it was fun to see it as a book. During this process I learned that I can do better in writing and reading and research. if I had to do the project again I would choose a different topic because I can learn new things that I didn’t know.
