Technology Post #9

So… this is supposed to be my last post…. but… I dont want it to be the last one. Ive been learning a lot in technology, so I decided to make one more post after this one.

Today Ive watched 30 minutes of an awesome video about metals. I’ll put the link below. I’m going to watch the rest of the video tomorrow but here’s what I learned

Metals usually have fancy names. This makes it confusing for some people so I will explain it a bit. One of the weird names that nobody understands is luster, and this makes the metals shiny, so luster means shiny. Lustrous metals reflect light really well. And you can go ahead and tell someone “your ring is so shiny”, but… if you want to sound cool go ahead and say “your ring is so lustrous”. Sometimes people will be quite and pretend they understand but… some people might ask “what does that mean?” And you say “really, you dont know what lustrous means? It means shiny!”                                Gold is very lustrous. This is one of the reasons why it is so popular around the world. This is also a reason it is so expensive, It can reflet light really well.

Conductivity is another fancy science word. Conductivity means that a metal can get electricity through it quickly. In other words its the degree to which a specified material conducts electricity, calculated as the ratio of the current density in the material to the electric field that causes the flow of current. It is the reciprocal of the resistivity. Copper is an example that has conductivity. It is often used in electrical wiring. Conductivity lets all the electricity pass through as fast as possible.

I hope you learned a lot. If you didn’t understand something you can go ahead and watch a bit of this video.

DO NOT WATCH THE VIDEO ABOUT GEMS. CLICK THE VIDEO FOR METALS.

It’s amazing. I would recommend watching it all. If you like to you can complete this form. Its a small test. No Grade, No Pressure! Its for fun. Treasures of the Earth form

As always have a nice day! And I hope to see you again soon.
