This is my Book review on Double Fudge. We had to write an introduction to hook the reader. Then we had to talk a little about the book. Next we talked about a connection we had with the book. Last we wrote about what type of reader would like this book. Hope you enjoy my book review on Double Fudge.

Do you have a younger brother or sister? Do they like something a lot and are always talking about it? Well in the book Double Fudge by Judy Blume, Peter’s brother Fudge can’t stop talking about money!

 

In the book Fudge is obsessed with money. He is constantly talking to people and asking them how much money they have. While Fudge continues to talk about money, Peter is determined to make it stop and put the money talk to an end.

 

I was able to connect to this book because Peter has a younger sibling who talks about something again and again and I have a younger sibling who does the same!

I rate this book five out of five stars. I recommend this book to people who like funny fiction stories. Hope you read  Double Fudge by Judy Blume.

Cultural Universals Project (Peru)

This is my book on Peru. We had to do a lot of research with books, articles, and reliable websites.It was hard work because we had to research five  cultural universals: 1) Politics, 2) Social Aspects, 3) Beliefs, 4) Economics, And 5) Cultural Art. After we got all the information we needed we typed them into the five categories. We wrote our information on our choice of book creator. We added pictures and some finishing touches. It was a hard process but we did it! Hope you enjoy.

Based on yesterday we did not make any improvements today. We just tried to get more marbles across safely today. At thirty eight  marbles it stopped working.

 

The train had  two strip magnets on each side of the track. The train had one magnet on each side. I think the train was successful because the tracks had more magnets which created a stronger magnetic field. On the vehicle there was only two strip magnets which created a weaker magnetic field.

I learned that maglev trains are not so easy to make. The EDP is very important when you are designing a maglev train.The EDP means Engineering Design Process  I learned that when you work with a group you have to have a lot of grit.

Today we finished step one. Our train was levitating. If you don’t know what levitating means let me explain. Levitating means to hover or float. The magnets we used to improve is the strip magnets because they were lighter than the ring magnets. The magnets were placed one long strip magnet on each side of the track and the car.

Today we failed on trying to transport marbles to the other side of the track without them falling off. We learned that we needed a sturdy force one that did not tip or shake. We changed the track a little to see if it worked. So instead of using one strip magnet on each side  of the track to put to on the track.

Our goal for our next session is to get the marbles across the track. We think it might work if you make the force even stronger than it is.

A maglev train is a train levitates over the track. A maglev train work using magnets that repel. When the magnets repel they float or levitate. My group’s idea was that the magnets on the track should repel from the magnets on the train, but we also think that at the end of the track we should put magnets that attract.

When we were making our maglev train some of it worked and some of it failed. We started off good and it was levitating and then we got to a piece that the magnets were attracting instead of repelling.

Our group worked really well together. There was a lot of teamwork going on. Everyone has their own job. Someone would do tape another would test the magnets two people put the magnets on the track and train. My group was also very nice to one and other if someone did something wrong they would just say it’s okay and we kept working. Our group was focused and got a lot done!

Beverly Cleary

I believe it is important that all third grade classes have Beverly Cleary books in their classroom library. In my persuasive writing piece, I shared my reasons, which are that Beverly Cleary writes a lot of books, that she brings in characters from other books, and that they are appropriate for third grade students.

 

In my project, I created a screencastify that shared my persuasive piece. It was a fun project, but it was a bit challenging. I liked getting to write about my favorite author and learning some awesome facts too! What was hard was getting started,  but as I kept on trying and after a lot of work I had a persuasive speech. I hope you watch my slideshow and agree that all third grade classrooms should have Beverly Cleary books.

   

   

Adeline and the Wonder

This is my personal narrative. In our first writing unit we learned about  paragraphs,making endings , and using dialogue. This is my first blog post and I am so excited to share it with you!I hope you like my first blog post!

 

One stormy night not so long ago I was in the kitchen. I asked, “Mom what’s for dessert?”

Oh I hope it’s brownies! I thought

“Brownies,” hollered my mom from the basement.

Yes! I thought excitedly

My dad handed me a brownie, “What about a thank you?”

“Oh thank you,” I replied.

“That’s my girl,” said my dad of course proud of his daughter.

“Addie you and Izzy can share the brownie because that’s the last one,” said my mom tiredly.

I was so mad I hit my sister, Addie and I ran!

I ran through the dining room and into the living room.

And my sister was there waiting, watching! Well I don’t know what she was doing but she was doing something!

Her face filled with anger. My feet were glued to the ground. It’s like my sister made some super strong Gorilla Glue!

I wondered how did she make it happen? I tried to lift my right foot it did not move. I lifted my left foot it did not budge. How was this possible? I was frightened!

My sister’s face was red hot. It  was scary.

My sister jumped and did a wonder women!

For those who are interested in learning what a wonder women is here’s what it is.

Think of a diver or a belly flop. She wrapped her arms around me and I fell to the ground. I was so mad I could hit her again but we all know what that leads you to so don’t!

But I think I should forgive Addie I was the one who started it. So I chose the good person.

I will and I mean I will forgive Addie I know I can.

“Addie I’m sorry will you forgive me?”

“Of course,” said Addie with a little grin.

Maybe around seven thirty my sister and I came running into the kitchen took the brownie off the plate and split it in half,and we enjoyed our wonderful treat.
