Capstone #1

I am working on a project called capstone, capstone is a research project where you get to choose your topic. So far it has been fun but we are still finding interviewees and doing research.

Originally I was planning to do something about alien life, then we were sharing possible topics and one of my classmates (shout out to David) shared the idea of dreams I thought that was really interesting and looked into it and found out that there are no really hard facts about and I thought that it would make an interesting presentation. You could call it stealing but I like to think about it as stealing like an artist (sorry David).

My original guiding question was “how have dreams impacted human evolution?” but then I realized that I just chose that question because it sounded fancy but it didn’t sound like something I would like. (And also what is human evolution?) Then I went through this phase where nothing interested me I found it all so dull in my eyes every topic someone was doing was the most boring thing on earth. Now I developed a research question that I’m actually interested in: “how and why do we have dreams?”

I still don’t have any sub-questions, but I think after my interview that will leave me with a few questions. Because when you know nothing that questions can you ask, you think when you know everything you can’t ask questions, but really you’ll know what to wonder because you’ll know what’s not there. (Sorry for making it seem so dramatic.)

Well, I think that’s it, for now, please check in later to see my next blog post there will be 2 more on this project.
