Yelling, Screaming, Crying, Barking

Yelling, Screaming, Crying, Barking

Dhoni

This has happened before. Lucian forgetting something and then getting someone hurt. I figure it is his everyday goal to make someone cry, and the only way he knows how to is by hurting someone. And that is exactly how he gave me this concussion.

I was sledding down the hill. Letting the cool breeze hit my face. It was the first day of sledding for me and my family this year. But instead of sledding, my brother decided to run at the bottom of the hill just like our mom told him not to.

I saw myself with a broken nose, because my brother’s boot was heading for my face, but then I thought I could change that. So I turned my head and shut my eyes so tight that they hurt and got ready for the worst pain of my life. The boot hit my face and I screamed.

I woke up to three people looking down at me, but they were all a blur because of the tears in my eyes. I tried to focus to see if I could tell who they were, but that didn’t help at all because all it did was make me dizzy, and make my head hurt more. “Dhoni, what happened? And did Lucian do it?” I recognized that voice right away and it was my dad. I told him “Yes,” and heard the tiniest little “yes” out of my brother. I knew he was so happy when our dad didn’t hear him, but I also knew that  he was so scared to see our mom, and I bet he doesn’t know that I’m scared too.

I reached out to open the door, but then I thought that if I waited to go inside the drama would calm down. So I put my ear against the door and listened. Yelling, screaming, crying, barking. If I went inside maybe I would be able to sneak upstairs. But of course it didn’t work because as soon as I got inside everyone noticed me and then my parents ran over to me, which gave Lucian the chance to run up to his bedroom. I ran out of my parents arms so I could give Lucian my best bear hug.

But by the time I got there he already locked the door and there was no way of getting in now, so I knocked on the door and asked, “Lucian, are you okay?”

He opened the door and said,“I’m sorry,” then instead of me giving him my best bear hug, he gave me his best bear hug.

  1. Hi Dhoni,
You are such a great writer, I love how much detail you put in your blogs. Did anything end up happening to your nose?
