Trip to NYC

Today was so fun. We went to Manhattan and on the New York Harbor. We learned a lot from Mr.Casal who knew a lot about NY Harbor and Manhattan because he grew up there. First, we went on the Staten Island Ferry and we saw Liberty Island, Governors Island and Ellis Island. A fact that we learned about Ellis Island is that there is a narrow bridge that you can walk across to get to Ellis Island, but it is against the law to walk on it because only workers can walk on it. When we got to the dock we turned around and got back on the Ferry and headed back to Manhattan. Once we got there, we got off and found our bus and went to lunch. On the way, we learned that the oldest building in Manhattan was an old police station that was still there! When we got to our lunch spot, we had an incredible view! We could see the Brooklyn Bridge and a bunch of other bridges too. Did you know that there are 21 bridges connecting Brooklyn and Manhattan? Well if you didn’t, now you do. After lunch the teachers let us run around a bit in a park. Then, we went to the bathroom in a big office and got back on the bus heading home.
