2020 Review

2020 was a hard year to get though because of the Coronavirus. We couldn’t finish fourth grade and had to finish the year online. It is hard to learn online because it’s easy to be distracted. I am very happy that the year is over and i hope that next year the Coronavirus vaccine will put everything back to normal.

Trip to NYC

Today was so fun. We went to Manhattan and on the New York Harbor. We learned a lot from Mr.Casal who knew a lot about NY Harbor and Manhattan because he grew up there. First, we went on the Staten Island Ferry and we saw Liberty Island, Governors Island and Ellis Island. A fact that we learned about Ellis Island is that there is a narrow bridge that you can walk across to get to Ellis Island, but it is against the law to walk on it because only workers can walk on it. When we got to the dock we turned around and got back on the Ferry and headed back to Manhattan. Once we got there, we got off and found our bus and went to lunch. On the way, we learned that the oldest building in Manhattan was an old police station that was still there! When we got to our lunch spot, we had an incredible view! We could see the Brooklyn Bridge and a bunch of other bridges too. Did you know that there are 21 bridges connecting Brooklyn and Manhattan? Well if you didn’t, now you do. After lunch the teachers let us run around a bit in a park. Then, we went to the bathroom in a big office and got back on the bus heading home.

Halloween 2018

Late, October 31… me and my friends went trick or treating! We were all going as skull trooper, a skin from fortnite. We were so happy for halloween!

“It’s my favorite holiday,” I shouted to my friend, Sam.

“Me too,” said Lucas.

“I’m so excited,” said John.

4:50, 4:55, 4:59, 5:00!!! “Let’s go!” I exclaimed. My friends and I drove to Fayette, where we would go trick or treating.

We went to the first house, “trick or treat.” “Trick or treat,” we said at the second house. At the third house, “trick or treat.” We went from house to house, collecting more and more candy. My backpack was getting heavy!

We met our friends on the way such as, Tomi, Bennet, Berke, Jacob and more!

“Hi,” we said when we saw them. When we had gone to around 30 houses, we took a short break.

“All this candy is piling up in the backpack,” said my dad. It was true. We had about 60 pieces of candy.

“WOW,” I exclaimed. When we got to the back of the road, we turned and went to lincoln road, where the most candy was found.

One house could’ve gave us 3 pieces of candy. “Trick or treat,” we kept on saying. Soon our voices were running out, our feet were getting tired.

“Keep on going,” I grunted.

“Yeah,” said John. We already went to about 70 houses! Our bags were filling up by the minute. When we were close to done, we only wanted to go to one more house…sam’s neighbor! She is so nice! We drove to her house at 3 reamer road.

“Hi,” she said to us. Sometimes, she has full candy bars. We looked at the basket, “Yay, she has full candy bars!” We all talked until it was time to go home. “Bye Sam, John and Lucas,” I shouted.

“When I got home I ate some of my candy and watched a little bit of television before I went to bed. Boy, this sure was a good Halloween!

My 9th birthday

Today is my birthday!!!! I am so happy. First, in the morning I woke up and screamed, “TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!!!”, so loud, I woke up my sister.

Then I played Fortnite. After Fortnite I got my birthday bag and got stuff for it. “Trophy check…”, I said.

When I got downstairs I started to watch television until I had to go to school. At 8:20 am my mom said, “Time to go birthday boy.”

When we arrived at school I ran through the hallways to find my friends. When I found them they said, “Happy birthday!” We all talked until the bell rang.

“Binngggg…” We raced down the hallways to the lockers and put our stuff in. I got my birthday bag and zoomed in the classroom. “Im so excited!” I exclaimed when I got to desk.

I did my DLR (daily language review) and then, went to spanish.

“Hola,” I said to my spanish teacher. We learned about states in spanish. Then , we had instrumental music.

We played hot cross buns on a violin. When we were done we had recess.I played football. I scored a touchdown.

“Yay,” my team said. When we went inside, we did math.

When lunchtime came my mom took me out of school for a hour. “Hi birthday boy! Let’s go get pizza!” said my mom. We went to italian village, a pizzaria.

Then we went to scoop shop.

A little bit later  I shared my birthday bag to the class . I showed them my favorite golf ball, my baseball trophy, my squishy ball and a video of me playing golf.

Right after that, we had science. We learned about energy. “Zzz.”

In a few minutes we  had p.e. We did tag and another game.

At 3:10, when the bell rang, my friends and I raced to the door. My grandma picked us up and we went home.

At my house we played fortnite. After two hours, we played tag. Then my friends’ moms came.  “Bye!,” I said to them.

“Bye,” they called back. I had a really fun day. Plus, now I was nine.
