Maglev Post #2

Today me and my group got the vehicle to levitate above the track. On the vehicle we put 4 strip magnets around it, and on the track my group stacked 2 long strip magnets together on both sides of the track stacked 3 times.

Today my group failed on making the vehicle get steady while it was traveling on the track. We noticed that the long strip magnets on the sides were not exactly on the side. Then 1 person in my group noticed and we fixed it.

My groups goals for tomorrow is making our train levitate to the end of the track while having little rocks on it (Passengers) and if we fail we will try to revise it.

The Maglev train is a train powered by magnets and levitates. My groups idea for the train is to put a disc magnet in the middle of the train and put strip magnets around it, and the track had nine disc magnets in the middle and also strip magnets around the nine disc magnets.

Our car didn’t levitate it just stayed on the bottom of the track. Me and my group were trying to fix mistakes, but it was very hard. I think we will try a different way to make it levitate.

This project was hard because my group thought we had north poles on all magnets, so it would repel and levitate, but we had some south poles. My group thought finding the poles on the magnets was hard because there was no labels on the sides, so we had to stick magnets together to see if they would attract to each other or repel.
