Out of school… into craziness!

YAY! School’s out for four and a half days! But, now what to do? Well, first up on the list was a play-date with some old friends. There names? Collin and James. Honestly, I was not sure how the play-date would go because both of my friends tended to be a little reckless. But it went great! First we played Pokemon. Then, we went on the trampoline. Finally, we played down in the basement. As we ended the play-date, I knew that this was just the beginning!

The next day was thanksgiving itself. The first part of the day was low-key. I relaxed on my bed, content with a book. Then my parents announced “Let thanksgiving begin!” With that, we drove over to my dad’s grandma’s house. There were so many people there. The excitement of yesterday’s play-date was nothing compared to the craziness of this party!

I began to play with my cousin but before anything could really happen “Come to the table, time for the first course.” But eating wasn’t all that bad. We all gobbled up my grandma’s carrot soup like hungry animals! The next thing on the menu, was cornbread, orĀ cakebread. Why cakebread? Well, compared to normal cornbread it’s like a pool of sugar. We gobbled that down like animals who hadn’t eaten for at least a week! Then came the turkey and gravy and cranberry sauce and for dessert the chocolate turkey. I thought this was a ton of food, but it didn’t stop me from gobbling it down! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM… *groan*. Boy, that was a lot of food. Luckily, the huge meal and the stress of the party were over, right? Nope, At the cry of “Guys, time to go, your other grandma is waiting!” we departed for our second thanksgiving.

What happened at the second thanksgiving? Well, at first, nothing. But then, my great uncle showed me a cool mathic (a magic trick that uses math) trick. (The trick enables you to guess a number that somebody is thinking of through cards.) Soon, my emotions rose as fast as a plane! I was ready to show this trick to everyone! And I did just that! When just everyone was baffled by the amazing mathic trick, it was time to eat! But, just about everyone in my family was so full we didn’t eat a thing. Even for the people who did eat, for some reason, nobody had an appetite that that matched the appetites of the people at the last dinner. After dinner, I set up a math booth to raise money for Khan Academy. It was a hit! I earned $5.01 for donation! After that, I was so tired *groan… zonk*. All in all I thought my two thanksgivings had a lot of ups and a few hilarious moments! However, as I walked out the door, I knew the fun of the 4-day weekend had only just begun!
