The Time I Sprained my Knee

This is my personal narrative. In our first writing unit we learned about dialogue, making endings, action, and making bigger parts in our story.

I rushed to the hospital with my dad. When we got to the hospital I asked my dad, “Am I going to be ok?’’

He said, ‘’Yes Alexis,’’ with a LOUD voice.

I didn’t believe that I was going to be okay because I was in pain.  When the doctor called us in, he wanted to talk about what happened. I said I was running in Disneyland and I tripped over Mickey Mouse and … before I could say anything else the doctor started laughing.

The doctor said,  “I feel so bad for you,” in a laughing voice.

“I want to see what’s wrong please” I said.

The doctor wiped tears from laughing so hard. Then the doctor gave me an x-ray.

“Will it hurt?”  I said with a frown.

“No!” said the doctor with a little smile,.

The x-ray was so BIG! I was really scared.  After I was done with the x-ray I sat in the waiting room but before I got to the waiting room.

A nurse stopped us and said,  “Oh you poor thing have this stuffed animal pig.” she gave me a very flat, skinny pig.

“Thank you,” I said with a BIG smile.  “I wish mom were here!” I said to my dad. “The nurse held my hand REALLY tight.”

We finally got to the waiting room, a few minutes later, the doctor came in and said, “There are no broken bones but you did sprain your knee…”

Before he could anything  else my jaw dropped. “I can’t believe this,’’ I screamed so loud!

Later that night…my dad and I went to go have dinner with the rest of my family.

‘’What did you do today?’’ my mom asked.

We were quiet and dad and I stared at each other.

‘’That’s a long story!’’ I said looking at my dad.

‘’That is!’’ he said.

That night I told my dad, ‘’This was # theWORSTDAYEVER but fun.

’’You are totally right’’ he said.
