Smoky Night vs. Fly Away Home

Hi

Today I will talk about the differences between Smoky Night and Fly Away Home, about characters and symbolism and all that other stuff

Smoky Night is about the riots in New Orleans. People started stealing items and burning down houses, and Fly Away Home, it’s about the life of a person living in an airport.

I think you can see a very big difference just explaining this right now. I think Smoky Night is a lot more violent, while Fly Away Home is more casual as a life just living in an airport with no stealing and crashing through windows.

I’ve just realized that in each book she wrote, the symbol is an animal. In Fly Away Home, the pigeon was trying to escape from the airport, and after it kept on trying, it escaped because a literal door opened. I think a message the author is telling me in this story is to keep on trying and never give up. In Smoky Night, the main character (daniel)’s cat (jasmine) was trying to escape from the burning house. It made friends with the neighbor’s cat during dark times. So, I think that the message that the author is telling us in this story is that you can make friends no matter what / during dark times.

I think the characters in both stories are both very brave. They both had to experience hard times. Being homeless is not fun. Nor is having your apartment on fire.

the end

bye xd
