Photosynthesis

The video below shares some information on photosynthesis. Using the information from the video as well as the readings we have done in class, you will be required to post the BIG IDEAS about photosynthesis on the padlet provided below the video.

Make sure to answers these questions:

  • What is photosynthesis?
  • What does a plant need to make food?
  • What is the food they make and what do they give off that animals need?
  • Any new or interesting information that you didn’t already know include in your post.

Maglev Blog Post #3

We have finished our third day of designing, planning, and creating our Maglev Transportation System. We all successfully created a Maglev Train that traveled safely and efficiently across the tracks. Today, you were given the challenge of creating a Maglev Transportation System that could now carry weight safely and efficiently across the tracks.Your group worked really hard to reflect over what you did that worked and didn’t work on Day 1 & 2, and then use that information and your knowledge of magnets and trains to reimagine, redesign, plan again and recreate a better Maglev Transportation System that would safely and efficiently travel across a track carrying weights without any problems.  In your Google Drive in your SCIENCE folder, you will create a Blog Post #3.

Here is the Blog Post Requirements:

Paragraph #1:

  • Describe the improvements you made to your train

Paragraph #2:

  • Describe your final train and track
  • Why do you think this train was successful?

Paragraph #3:

  • What did you learn from this process?
    • About Maglev Trains
    • About the EDP
    • About working with a group

Be sure to check over your work in your Google Drive BEFORE you post it to your blog.  Look for:

  • Proper capitalization and punctuation
  • Correct spelling and grammar
  • That you answered each question in FULL sentences
  • Your writing reflects your work throughout Day 2 of the Planning, Designing and Creating stages of the Engineering Design Process (EDP)
  • You have used the Engineering Design Process and Magnetism Vocabulary provided for you

Maglev Blog Post #2

We have finished our second day of designing, planning, and creating our Maglev Transportation System. Your group worked really hard to reflect over what you did that worked and didn’t work on Day 1, and then use that information and your knowledge of magnets and trains to reimagine, redesign, plan again and recreate a better Maglev Transportation System that would safely and efficiently travel across a track without any problems. In your Google Drive in your SCIENCE folder, you will create a Blog Post #2.

Here is the Blog Post Requirements:

Paragraph #1:

  • What did you do today that worked? Be specific.
    • Type of magnets
    • Placement of magnets

Paragraph #2:

  • What did you do today that failed?
  • What did you learn from your failure?
  • What changes did you make because of your failure?

Paragraph #3:

  • Talk about your goals for the next design session.

Maglev Blog Post #1

We have finished our first day of designing, planning and creating our Maglev Transportation System. Your group worked really hard to test out the design you developed to see if the train has safely and efficiently traveled along the track without any problems. In your Google Drive you will type up your Blog Post #1. This will be placed in your Science Folder in your Google Drive.

Here is the Blog Post Requirements:

Paragraph #1:

  • What is a maglev train and how does it work?
  • What was your group’s idea for the track and train?

Paragraph #2:

  • What did you do today that worked?
  • What did you do today that failed?

Paragraph #3:

  • How was your experience working with your group? (What was challenging and what worked well?) No Names Included

Be sure to check over your work in your Google Drive BEFORE you post it to your blog. Look for:

  • Proper capitalization and punctuation
  • Spelling and grammar
  • That you answered each question in FULL sentences
  • Your writing reflects your work throughout day 1 of the Planning and Creating stages of the Engineering and Design Process
