Fourth grade was a great year. I met many new friends. We had many field trips including our kayaking trip and many others like wayside cottage. We had a lot of fun making our American Revolution book. During our kayaking trip we learned about the different kinds of kayaks. We learned about the history of Wayside cottage. We had many great read alouds. Fourth grade will be great a memory that I will remember.
Everyone enjoys a nice cup or cone of ice cream an a scorching hot day. But what spoils the fun, is that you end up with a sticky, melted, mess. But Colombia’s Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana has found an unusual solution to this problem. They are using cellulose fiber extracted from banana plant waste to help your ice cream not melt into pudding.
Bananas, as you probably know,grow in bunches on trees called perennial herb. Each little piece is attached to a stalk in the center of the plant. That stalk is called a rachis. The team trying to make your ice cream not melt, extracted cellos nano-fibrils (CNFs) from the rachis. Then, micro fibers were added into 100 grams of ice cream mix.
After the CNFs were mixed in on a test, the ice cream staying it it’s frozen state for longer than normal. People predicted that CNFs could make ice cream more healthy.
Then they wanted to try if coconut oil would change or react to the CNFs.
Not only did the CNFs help, a protein called BSIA(Bacterial Surface Layer A) also helped the ice cream stay in it’s frozen state for longer.
Yay! Our ice cream wont melt! We can eat and lick with out a sticky mess of cold cream.

Fortnite is a very popular video game. Fortnite was introduced less than a year ago. To be exact, July 25th 2018. Most gamers know what it is. Of course I do. It is one of my favorite games. Now it holds more than fourty five million players. About one third of PC(Personal Computer) gamers play Fortnite. My question is how did “Fortnite get this popular in such a short time period?”
Fortnite noticed a game called PUBG(Players Unknown Battlegrounds). They wanted to make fortnite better than that. The game was supposed to be a zombie survival in a post apocalyptic world. But instead they added the mode “Battle Royale.” Battle Royale is a mode where you kill others with guns you find from chests or the gun is just sitting there. You are in a battle between one hundred people, and you want to be the last man standing. Fortnite is free and is avalible on PC,xbox,PS4, and IOS devices.
Fortnite is rated from ages 8 to 18. It is much more kid friendly than PUBG. PUBG includes a blue blood hack and Fortnite doesn’t. Fortnite battle royale was released september 2017, and was a lot better than the old fortnite. Fortnite is really cool. You collect different skins to look epic, different pickaxes, and different glider. The skins just look cool. The pickaxes are used for collecting materials. And gliders are to help you safely land on the ground. First you skydive, then when your too low, the game switches you to glider mode. The game is programmed that way.
Personal Response: I chose this article because I like Fortnite. I am interested in video game history and the furture for Video games. If I do say so my self, I play Video games a little bit too much on the weekends.

A few than 1800 pandas live in the wild. But panda experts from Chengdu Panda Base are working very hard to increase that small population every day. They are introducing captive-born pandas into the wild.
Qian Qian ( pronounced chen chen), is a young giant panda that was born in captivity. She stars in the IMAX documentary Pandas. The film follows Qian Qian as she prepares to leave the panda base and be free out into the wild world.
Most wild pandas live in the steep mountains of western China. So this means Qian Qian must learn how to survive in this difficult habitat. The film shows how the panda experts help the cute little cub find her wild side.
Drew Fellman told TFK “It is very difficult to take pictures up in these mountains.” Drew and his club had to go fast to keep up with Qian Qian to keep him safe. Drew says ” they look lazy and silly” but “they move pretty fast.” Narrated by Kristen Bell, the film is playing in select IMAX theaters.

This is going to be a short blog post. But as you red from the title, it is Friday the 13th. I just wanted to say happy Friday the 13th😇.
Friday is the best day ever! after school it is the weekend. You run outside. If it is hot like it was today where I live, the ice cream truck will come. We all scream for ice cream!
And later that night, you have a sleep over. Even better, you can arrange a double sleep over and have two in a row. I haven’t done that yet but I am planning to.

Philadelphia zoo gorilla walks upright to keep his food and hands clean
Almost all gorilla’s stand on their knuckles and feet and sometimes will stand just on their feet for only a step or two, this gorilla, Louis did not. Louis is a sixteen year old gorilla and he likes to take longer strolls.
Louis often stands on two feet when the ground is wet or he is holing some fruit. Louis is six-feet tall and four hundred fifty pounds. A 2015 blog by the great ape’s keeper, “When caught out in a rainstorm, he’ll run rapidly across the yard to seek cover, and when he accidentally steps in mud, he’ll find a leaf or a paper bag and wipe his hand or foot off until they are clean again.”

Is Christmas your favorite holiday? Are you christian? Because Christmas is my favorite holiday. I am also Christian. I love to speed down the stairs and rip open my presents in the morning. I love to hang the shiny ornaments onto the Christmas tree with my family. I love to listen to jolly Christmas sounds like jingle bells and many other songs. I love to stay up really late. I love spending time with my relatives throughout Christmas break. I love it when it is Christmas day. It is so cold but jolly.
The first reason why Christmas is my favorite holiday is because I love to wake up, and dash down stairs to open my presents. But I have to wait for the rest of my family to wake up and come with me. Last Christmas, I got a new 3DS XL. I played on it for a while after I finished opening my presents. After I was done, I had a lot of presents to play with. ( And a lot of money to spend.) Also, my dad said “It’s great that you like all the present your cousins and I got you.” I also loved to watch my cousins open their presents. Some of the older ones got the Iphone X, which is a rip off. I watched my cousins lily,( A puppy) try to open one of her presents, but my cousin had to help her. It was really cute. It was her first Christmas.
The second reason that Christmas is my favorite holiday is because I get to hang ornaments on the Christmas tree with my family. We usually hang the ornaments really late and put on some jolly traditional Christmas music. I love to hang the ornaments with tubes we have. We have many different colors of ornaments. We have an ornament of me in 2009. I was only one year old. We have a welfleet ornament of 2014. We have letter ornaments for all the first letter of my family’s names. S, N, C, and A. Last Christmas I didn’t hang many ornaments because my dad did them while I was at school. Hanging ornaments on the Christmas tree is fun.
The last and most important reason that why Christmas is my favorite holiday is because I get to spend time with my family and cousins. I love to go out for lunch with my cousins. I went to a place called the snug For Christmas I always go to my cousins house in Massachusetts. We stay there for a week and we have a lot of fun. I usually open my presents at my house then go, but last Christmas I went a day early and opened my presents at their house. So our Christmas tree never had presents under it. I had so much fun during the week I was there at Christmas break. On our way back we dropped off one of our cousins to college and then went home.
Christmas is my favorite holiday. That will never change. Christmas is really awesome. We even get a whole week and four days off of school! There is so much to do in that time, and I always use my new presents.(Especially if I got something like a PS4 or a 3DS. My uncle said that “Thanksgiving is better than Christmas.” But in my opinion Christmas is the best holiday there is!
Unadoptable Rescue Dog Makes History as the first Deaf Member of Washington’s K-9 Unit

Ghost is a pit bull mix with white fur, and is known as the first deaf member to join Washington’s K-9 Unit. Maybe, he made history for the country! What makes this even more astonishing, is that Ghost was marked unadoptable and scheduled to be euthanized. This achievement was huge for Ghost.
The pups astounding progress started in september 2015. The stray puppy was brought to the Swamp Haven Rescue Center in St. Augustine, Florida. Because of his high energy level, occasional indifference to humans, and deafness, required adopters to learn a whole new way to communicate which forced him to be on the unadoptable list. This would mean that the puppy would soon have to be put down.
But Swamp Haven Rescue Center volunteers were nowhere near to giving up on Ghost. They went out to other animal shelters across the country for help. Luckily, the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society in Port Angela agreed to take in the adorable pup. They gave Ghost a new lease on life. A little bit after Ghost mist out on many adoptions, the animal shelter reached out to Barb Davenport, a K-9 program manager for Washington state. The expert, who had trainer over 450 rescue dogs, searched for drugs since the 1980’s thought that Ghost was the perfect candidate for the job. Barb Davenport said that “He was very focused and determined to locate his ball when thrown or hidden. This makes for a more trainable dog. Even his high energy level was important in his life. Then Ghost began his job.

Hello! Today I will be talking about my nintendo switch and two of Nintendo’s franchises.
I am so excited! For the switch, some amazing games have been exposed for 2018! They are Kirby star allies and Metroid Prime 4! There are also rumors for pokemon switch. Also rumors for super smash bros for the Nintendo Switch and Yoshi. I can’t wait! This could be Nintendo’s best year!
Kirby star allies is coming march 16th! I am totally getting it because it is a four player game and you can bond with creatures so they can they can be your team members! I am a big fan of the kirby series. Kirby’s first game was 1992! That was 26 years ago! That means it is was recently Kirby’s 25th anniversary! I am happy Nintendo released Kirby 26 years ago.
Metroid is a great franchise. It has first person shooters and 2D gameplay. In the first two games you are supposed to beat mother brain and after that Samus Aran the main character tells you a big history thing for the intro of the third game Super Metroid. Bye the way, these are really old games because metroid first came out in 1986. But this year, Metroid prime 4 is coming to the switch.
