Moon Phase – March 20

Today is our twenty-first day of moon gazing. You will be expected to:

  • go outside to view the moon
  • record your observations on my blog
  • include date, time and conditions of the sky when you observed
  • and check out some of the links I shared on my “Moon Study” page. There are some interesting videos and sites about the moon and the constellations. Take a peek at one and share out some of the information you learned!

  1. Today is March 20 and i saw the moon at 3:45. I saw the moon and it looked so cool because it just was I just think the moon is so cool to look at the moon looked like a big cheese ball.

  2. Today is March 20th. I went to see the moon at 8:43 a.m. The sky was very clear so I saw the moon in its last quarter of the moon phase. Did you know that the moon phase goes from a waxing crescent to a first quarter to a waxing gibbous to a full moon to a waning gibbous to a last quarter to a waning crescent to a new moon?

  3. I saw the moon on March 20th at 8:30 pm. It is a first quarter. It was behind a tree so I couldn’t see it that well. Did you know that the sun is much bigger than the moon?

  4. Today is March 20th. I saw the moon at 8:05. The conditions of the sky are mostly cloudy. The moon phase is a waning gibbous. I tried to see Saturn but I did not.

It was about 8:45 a.m.With the Moon no longer there, the oceans of the world become much calmer. The Sun still has an effect on them (known as solar tides), so surfers wouldn’t be completely devoid of waves. But the oceans would largely become serene. This has a dire effect on life on Earth.

  9. Today is march 21. I saw the moon at 8:00 AM. The conditions of the sky were cloudy and partly sunny. The phase of the moon is the waning crescent. I did not see the moon today. Did you know that The distances of planets from each other and from the Sun are often measured in Astronomical Units, AU.

  10. Today is March 20. I looked for the moon at 8:10 p.m. The sky was super cloudy. Did you know that aliens may be living on the moon.

  11. On Monday, March 20th, the phase of the moon Third Quarter phase. Sometimes it is called the Last Quarter moon, this phase usually happens three weeks after the New Moon. I went out last night but I didn’t see the moon and only saw the stars.
