This week our class pollinated our plants, we dabbed our finger in the polin and dabbed that polin onto the other plants pistol. After we came back from the weekend we looked back at our plants and there was seed pods! It looked like mini sugar snap peas or green beans, but they are tiny.

Controlled cell 1 is green it has 22 leaves 4 buds and it is 18 centimeters. Cell 2 is green it has 20 leaves it has 6 buds and it’s 14 centimeters. Cell 3 is green it has 21 leaves it has 7 buds and it’s 20 centimeters. Cell 4 is green it has 14 leaves, it has 15 buds and it’s 8 centimeters. Manipulated cell 1 is white it has 15 leaves, 0 buds and it’s 13 centimeters. Cell 2 is  white it has 13 leaves, theres 2 buds and its 9 centimeters. Cell 3 is white and it has 10 leaves, it has 2 buds and it’s 8 centimeters. Cell 4 is white it has 8 leaves, it has 0 buds and it’s 4 centimeters.

 

I think my manipulated will plants will die because the sunlight is starting to affect the manipulated. And it’s also starting to droop down and turn really white.

For the past 2 – 3 weeks my group controlled is doing pretty well. I will tell you some of the measurements we have got this week. Cell number 1 in the controlled quad is now 10 centimeters but it stayed  10 centimeters for about 5 days. Cell 2 one of our best cells its 16 centimeters! Cell 3 is the one that is doing the worst it is 4 cm. And our last cell, cell 4 is 12 centimeters. I will now tell you the descriptions of the controlled cells. Cell 1 is green, it has 20 leaves and it has 13 buds. Cell 2 is green and it has 26 leaves (which is a lot of leaves) and it has ten buds (and they are already starting to grow flowers). Cell 3 is green it has 6 leaves and has 2 buds. Last but not least cell 4, cell 4 is green its has 18 leaves and it has 4 buds. All of theses controlled  plants have grown since the first day. Cell 2 is 16 centimeters right now, but at the first day we started recording our plants, cell 2 was 2 centimeters and grew 14 since the first day we started recording.

 

For the past 2 weeks we have been manipulating our manipulated quad and cells. I will tell you Some of measurements in the manipulated quad. Cell 1 is 13 centimeters tall that’s pretty big for a manipulated plant. Cell 2 is an average of 8 centimeters. Cell 3 is really big it’s 15 centimeters. And cell 4 is  8 centimeters. Now this might be hard to believe but since my group took away the sunlight for the manipulated, all of the manipulated plants are WHITE! So back to what I was going to say. Cell 1 is white it has 15 leaves and 0 buds because all of the buds turned into flowers. Cell 2 is white it has 18 leaves and has 8 buds. Cell 3 is white it has 15 leaves and 7 buds. Cell 4 is white it has 20 leaves and 7 buds. All of the manipulated changed since the start, one of the tallest that definitely changed since the start is cell 1 it was ½ centimeter. And the plants that did not get that tall is cell 2 and cell 4 they where 4 centimeters and since we started recording and only grew 4 centimeters.

 

The reason why my plants where white and not green is because they where in the closet so the sunlight didn’t hit them and color them.

In school we are learning about plants in class and today I’m going to teach you all about them. In this unit we are making a hypothesis. My groups hypothesis is, what is the effect of no sunlight on plant growth? You are probably wondering what a hypothesis is, well a hypothesis is a scientific theory that you are trying to prove. Each group has 2 quads one quad is your controlled which is the plant that you keep the same and give it what it needs (sunlight, water, soil, air). The other quad is the manipulated the one where you change one of those things. My group manipulated the sunlight and put it in a closet.

My groups tallest plant was 16  cm and my smallest was 4 cm. Our manipulated never really changed so far with color, but our controlled is doing good and its pretty green. One of my controlled  plants is 4 centimeters and another is 16 centimeters that’s 12 more centimeters! And one of my manipulated is 13 centimeters (that’s pretty big for a manipulated) and the other was 8 centimeters that’s 5 centimeters taller!
