Moon Phase – March 23

Today is our twenty-fourth day of moon gazing. You will be expected to:

  • go outside to view the moon
  • record your observations on my blog
  • include date, time and conditions of the sky when you observed
  • and check out some of the links I shared on my “Moon Study” page. There are some interesting videos and sites about the moon and the constellations. Take a peek at one and share out some of the information you learned!

Make sure to proofread over what you have written to make sure that you included capital letters, proper punctuation, correct spelling and that your post makes sense. Have fun!

Moon rise time: 4:11 a.m.

  1. Today is March 23rd, I went out at 1:30p.m. and did not see the waning crescent moon. I had to use the Sky Guide app. Tomorrow will also be a waning crescent. Did you know that shadows on the moon have nothing to do with the moon phases?

  2. Today is March 23rd. I looked for the moon at 11:20 am. I couldn’t see it. It was clear and sunny. The moon was in the waning crescent phase. Did you know that the Crux has 4 stars in it?

  3. On Thursday, March 23rd, the moon is in the Waning Crescent phase. The sky is clear and dark blue. I able to see a glimpse of the moon. I went outside at 7:59 pm.

  4. Today is March 23rd. I saw the moon at 8:37 PM. The conditions of the sky is fully dark. The phase of the moon is the waning crescent. I did not see the moon tonight. Did you know that We see the sun as a large round red ball only because we are much closer to the Sun than to any of the other stars.
