Rocketry Launch #1

In rocketry we have hot glued on our wings. My group, the Roc-Kids, made our wings out of styrafoam and we put green duck tape around the styrafoam. What we had to do was first made a pattern that we could trace on the styrafoam for the outline of the wings. Then, we had to cut the wings out of styrafoam. The first material we tried was cardboard but it was too easy to bend so we had to try styrafoam, which works. Finally, we put duck tape around the wing and we glued them on.

Also in rocketry we are going to make a nosecone. We made a 3D nose cone and it looks amazing. We are so lucky that the measurements were good. Our back up one was the top of a plastic water bottle and clay around it. But I don’t think that that would have been the best. I thought that the 3D printed nose cone would be a good measurement so, I didn’t worry about the back up one.

I think that my group likes our rocket. I think that it looks great and the measurements are great. Even thought we wanted only one water bottle at first we just had to add a 1/4 or not even a 1/4 of another water bottle but it didn’t make a big difference. I think that our rocket is amazing!
