This week my project in technology is building trusses. Before conducting this project I got all my materials ready. The materials for this project were, toothpicks or and type of hard material to stick the toothpicks in. I this case I used carrots, because they are very hard but you can also cut them easily. This project was very frustrating becasue every time one toothpick didn’t fit into the carrot the whole entire structure would fall. In the end my truss wasn’t very successful, it only held 1 book.

This week is the last week for building our I-beams. I am almost done with mine and I am interested to see how it turns out. The material I used for this project include, glue, cardboard, scissors, and a ruler. It was a little hard for me to cut the cardboard with scissors because I am a lefty, so with my parents  permission and help I used a sharp cutting tool to help cut my cardboard.  The end result of my I-Beam turned out to be amazing! It held 20 cans of food and 5 books!

This week we got our tech bags. Inside the tech bags the materials inside include, a ruler, tape, LED lights, a wire cuter, scissors, glue, popsicles sticks, toothpicks, balloons,  ect. I am really excited about our tech bags because we are going to build and experiment with these materials. We also did a couple Nearpods and learned a little bit about I-beams. I am excited to build mine!
