Rube Goldberg #6

Okay, So, I might have said that we finalized our sketch, but we really didn’t! The sketch we had was brand new and very different! It included pulleys, seesaw, ramps, tracks, balls, bowling pins marbles etc. It was much more complexed than our previous sketch’s. Also, we have completed our Rube Goldberg project! We worked on it for, 3 hours straight! We really put in all of our effort! We had 79 fails and 1 success (thats a lot)! We took videos of some and we are making a video of clips and photos from the process!

So hard,

Rube Goldberg #3

Today, during  library class, we were watching a documentary about a man who was doing a rube Goldberg for 2 months and the final product was only two minutes! His materials were very interesting and so were the ways he used them, some of the materials were,:

1 GIANT battery,1 bed, 1 big mirror, etc.

The battery inspired me and I thought,”Batteries are something that are around my house, and it would also be  a very good tool and work well with the design?” I also was wondering what are some ways I could add this into my design. I was trying to imagine my design and I thought it may be good before/after the dominos. I am going to discuss this with my partner! I can not wait for us to finish building!

Rube Goldberg #2

Today My partner Phoebe and I changed our sketch and started to build today!

After school today my partner Phoebe and I arranged a date to work on our rube goldberg project! When we started to build we found out that our ENTIRE idea was not going to work, so we decided to start from scratch!First we had to think of a task, we wanted to do something that wouldn’t be to difficult to do, so we decided to move a toy car. After that, We worked backwards and used materials we had from around my house. The Materials we decided that we were now going to use are:

  1. A barbie house
  2. A big cardboard pipe
  3. A table
  4. dominos
  5. Cardboard as a ramp
  6. Ping Pong balls
  7. A path for the ping pong ball to go down
  8.  A toy car
  9. A barbie car
  10. american girl doll table
  11. Duck Tape to tape the materials together

After we started to build. Our steps were:

  1. A ping pong ball to fall down the cardboard pipe thats attached to the barbie house
  2. On the other side, the ping pong ball will come out of and knock down dominos
  3. The dominos will knock down a toy car
  4. The toy car will fall down another tube
  5. The car will be on the American Girl Doll table
  6. The car will fall of the table and go down a “slide” that we made
  7. It will go down the slide and bump into a car

Thats what we have so far but i bet we will make some more tweaks!

Yours Truly,

Very Vanessas
