Have you ever built with lego bricks?Well if the legos were hard try building your own soccer pitch with no adult help, that’s what the boys in Panyee FC did. They wanted to make their own team but had no space to practice because they lived on a floating village in Southern Thailand.  Which shows the boys always trying to find solutions by looking on the bright side.

The boys had nowhere to play since they lived on a floating, small and tight village. “We started by collecting some old wood from around the village and tying some old fishing rafts together.” This also shows how independent they were, by building it themselves. They were building in all of their free time.”…And working after school to finish the playing surface.” That shows they worked whenever they could.

At the Pangha Cup, (a tournament) in the semi finals, it started to rain. The boys were down 2-0 by half time, so they decided to take off their shoes because they were used to playing in bad conditions because their pitch had nails sticking out of it and they practiced on a floating pitch. “… so we got rid of our wet boots. Playing in bare feet was much more comfortable for all of us.” Which shows the boys always trying to find solutions by looking on the bright side.

They had nowhere to play so they built their own pitch. They had no space when the video shows, two women banging into each other, and when a villager was biking and had no space so he and his bike ended up in the water. They weren’t going to be able to practice with no space and the text states, “We started by collecting some materials from around the village…” That shows that they were hardworking, determined, and never gave up.

The boys were poor and had never played soccer, they also didn’t expect there small team to eventually turn into something so big, like a championship winning team, and the original players are still playing together also they created a legacy. Above all, this taught me to keep working because hard work equals good rewards.
