E-Learning Monday March 23rd
Good morning! I hope you all enjoyed the weekend and found some new, creative ways to play and spend time with friends and family. Did you try any of the maker activities I left in your social studies folder? Did anyone have a virtual playdate? Connect with family over zoom? I’ve heard that some families are playing games with relatives over Zoom. That could be fun!
It’s Monday and that means we are starting with a discussion question. You can access the padlet here: Discussion Starter Padlet
As we get ready to start the week, I want to explain a few new things. This morning you have a read aloud video (#3) and a reading lesson slide presentation.
We have a Zoom session scheduled for 10:30am. That will be for our math lesson. Be sure you have your math notebook and a pencil with you for the zoom session. The link was emailed to your parents and can also be found in your social studies folder on drive.
When planning your day, remember to make time for mental breaks. Take time for recess and be sure to visit your specials teachers’ web pages on the Heathcote Gateway E-Learning Tab.
Additional assignments:
- Math – Area & Perimeter Lesson and Workbook pages 165, 166, 167
- Words Their Way – you must access through the Heathcote Gateway
- Read for 30 minutes – that can be your own independent book, a book on epic, or Scholastic (Storyworks Jr or the regular Scholastic Magazine), TrueFlix or even listen to a book on Tales2Go (directions and passwords are in your library folder on drive)
I’ve made a new page on this blog where you can find additional (and hopefully interesting) learning opportunities. Also, try out the Poetry Centers (on a separate page on this blog) to stretch your creative muscles.
Remember you can always go back to previous blog posts to complete unfinished work.
Be well! See you all at 10:30!
Ms. Boyer xo
