E-Learning Friday March 27th
Good morning!
Happy Birthday, Eli! I’m looking forward to seeing your birthday bag in our Zoom session at 11am. It was really nice to see so many of you yesterday, hear your questions and talk more about Winn-Dixie. If you haven’t had the chance to watch the movie, please try to do so this weekend. Check yesterday’s post for the assignment.
As you get ready to plan your day, as always, remember to make time for snack and recess. Taking a mental break is really important, it also gives you a chance to relax and refocus when you do get back to work.
Be sure to visit the Heathcote Gateway and plan at least one special for yourself today. All of your specials teachers have posted work there for you to continue the learning journey.
Let’s get started…
Because of Winn-Dixie
Because I love this book so much, there’s one final lesson. The video this morning features Mrs. Luciano and can be found here: Final Winn-Dixie Video
There are new slides in your social studies folder titled Thought Prompts Lesson 12, that contain the thinking work that you’ll have to.
Virtual Field Trip
Yesterday I assigned the Virtual Field Trip to The San Diego Zoo. Mrs. Mangan made this great video discussing the Bingo Board: have a listen as you continue on your trip: Field Trip Bingo.
Poetry
Try one poetry center (a separate page on this blog) and share what you create on your blog.
Math
How might we measure a shape’s perimeter if the shape has a curved line? Check out this video to find out: Measuring Perimeter Complete Workbook page 171 that is in your math folder on Drive. You will need a piece of string to complete this.
In addition, there are two great fraction games waiting for you in your math folder on Drive. Maybe you can teach a sibling or introduce this game for family game night?
Words Their Way – be sure you’ve completed this week’s lesson and handed it all in by clicking “turn it in.”
And don’t forget:

See you all at 11am!
