Choosing My Main Inquiry Questions and Sub Questions – Capstone #2

As you all know my grade started a project called Capstone. For Capstone, we need to have a main question that will drive our research along with sub questions that will help us answer our main question. When I was coming up with my main inquiry question my teacher shared a document with me about a study Cornell did on Snapchat. This article was called “Cornell Research Study Shows How Snapchat is Changing The Way we Share Information.” Once I read this I knew that something like that article would make a great inquiry question. I wrote it down on a separate Document and started to Revise until I thought it was the best question it could be. When I was choosing my sub questions I kept looking back to my main question to help jog ideas as to what sub questions would help me answer my main question and what is everyone talking about when it come to Snapchat. So my inquiry question is, In what ways is Snapchat changing the way we share information and are there going to be any additional add – ons to improve communicating through Snapchat? These are my sub questions

  • How is Snapchat a different way of communicating?
  • Why do people like this form of communicating better?
  • Has the new Snapchat update made it harder for people to communicate?
  • What are Snapchats next plans?
  • What is Snapchat planning to add on to the app next?

These are all of my questions!

Where I’m From Poem

Hi everyone,

Around two weeks ago my classmates and I were assigned a poem project. It is called Where I’m from. This is a type of poem where you talk about different things about your life. I decided to use a website my teacher recommended to me. This website is where they give you a template and you fill it out . I generates a poem and you can print it out. I used this then kept revising it so it was an awesome poem. Once we finished the poem we illustrated it and memorized it. If we didn’t memorize it that was ok, but I decided it would be a good idea. We picked out an image of something that has to do with our poem, or you could have just picked a colorful background. I choose a colorful background. We recorded ourselves in front of a green screen and then inserted the image behind us. Why don’t you check out my poem:

Choosing a Topic – Capstone #1

Hello everyone,

In fith grade at my school we do something called Capstone. Capstone is something where you pick a topic, come up with questions, do an interview and other stuff like that, then once you have your information we put together some kind of digital presentation and present it to a lot of different people.  My class started choosing our topic’s. We answered some questions, came up with more than one topic and narrowed down the topics to two. I have narrowed my topic’s down to Snapchat and Dō. For those who don’t know Snapchat is an app that allows you to take pictures of things and you can add filters then send them to your friends. Dō is a shop in NYC. It serves edible cookie dough, it also has ice cream. I think I am going to do Dō because I think it is interesting and it will be a good learning experience. I am excited to be doing this project and can’t wait to get started!

Edit: Hi guys, so after more consideration I decided to do Snapchat. I decided to do Snapchat because I will learn more from it and if I were to do Dō there wouldn’t be a good amount of information about it. I think I know what my inquiry question is, but I am not 100% sure.
