Third grade writer’s, today’s work is all about the details. You will be reaching back into prior lessons, using mentor texts, and Pixar videos. All that you have been learning to do as a writer, will be put to use today. There is nothing to hand in today, however you should be starting to type your story (or ask someone to help you type) as it is easier to share with classmates that way. We will be publishing next week! Wahoo!

  3. Review any prior lessons if needed
  4. Watch Imaginative Narrative Part 5

MATH: Graphing project- Day 1

Today you will be introduced to a new graphing project. The first part of the project is to craft a survey question and then create a Google Form as a way to collect data. Then you will be sharing your survey link on a common Google Sheet. Lastly, you will be checking back to the Google Sheet to take your classmate’s surveys. Be sure to answer all of your classmates’ surveys and then you can branch out to the rest of the grade.

  1. Go to the slides in your MATH folder called, “Graphing Project Day 1”
  2. Brainstorm 2 survey questions (Answer on Slide 6)
  3. Choose 1 final question (Answer on Slide 7)
  4. Create Google Form (Watch video for how)

WRITING: FANTASY

A famous author once said that as a writer, you should know your main character so well that at any given time, you’d know how much change he/she has in their pocket. We may not know the answer to that question, but today we are going to dig deeper into our main characters and get to know them better. Much better!

  • Watch the introductory video
  • Build your main character using looseparts **I will show you examples at our Zoom if you want to wait.**
  • Record your new thinking about your character in your notebook

Today, Pixar is famous for their imaginative shorts that use advanced technology to create their animations.
